Links
Here are the musical links I browse on a regular basis. They are
sorted by categories. They are not directly related to Autour de Lucie
but if you like them you might give this site a try.
French indiepop
- The original page for the village vert
label. It is not maintened by Guilhem Ensuque any longer because of
lack of time. Some parts on it are on this site, I hope he won't mind
(his brother is ok with that :-) ).
- Une
page pour l'Indie-pop francaise The reference page concerning
french indiepop maintened by Gerald Audenis. It contains everything
available on this topic on the web.
- The Labels site full with
infos and adresses. Another main site regarding french indiepop.
- The sites for the bands Watoo Watoo and Smiling
Marianne, two of our most exciting bands on the french indiepop
scene.
- The page of the Lithium label which
produces Dominique A, Françoiz Breut and Diabologum. A lot of infos, a
good discography.
- Bernard Lenoir's website, L'inrockuptible ...
Hard (read: impossible) to browse if you don't have a browser with all
the latest fashionable gizmos, erratic updates. This new version seems
to be more reliable though.
American artists
The can't miss
This is a list of the sites I visit regularly. It is far from being
exhaustive.
- The The Ectophiles'
Guide to Good Music is an encyclopedy that contains the
ectophiles' opinions on the various artists discussed on the list with
links and discography for all of them. The first place to go to where
you look for objective infos on an artist.
- Gaffaweb - A Tribute to
Kate Bush and her fansTHE absolute reference regarding Kate
Bush. All you ever wanted to know about Kate Bush is there. A model
for any fans site IMO.
- Little
divaThe website for the Maria McKee mailing list. This page is
full of infos, photos and also contains a FAQ. You can also visit this
great page
dedicated to Maria.
- A page for Kristin Hersh and
the Throwing Muses a band now separated for financial reasons. As
I write this Kristin is doing a solo world tour, don't miss her if she
comes close to your place. Her voice will haunt you for a long time.
- Of course the Nettwerk site
is also of interest not only for AdL but also for Sarah McLachlan,
Tara McLean, Rose Chronicles, Suzanne Little, Wild Strawberries,
etc. Lots of great music out there.
- The Lilith Fair
website. Lots of great infos. You can also subscribe to the Lilith
Fair mailing list hosted on smoe.
What I can't stop listening right now
- Mila Drumke
is a singer composer from New York in the pop/folk category with a
Kate Bush touch (she covers _Under the ivy_). Definitely worth
crossing the pond to see her! :-)
Online radios
If you have the needed plugins, the most famous is RealAudio, you can listen to radios
from all around the world live on the web. This the related pages I
browse on a regular basis.
- A catalog of the
online radios. You will find *every* radios available on the web there
but the amount of information makes it difficult to use.
- RadioEcto
contains a list of the radios that can be of interest to the ectophiles
with the links.
- The best radio on the web is, IMO, KCRW. The morning show, Morning
becomes eclectic, is a can't miss. Even you can't listen to them all
the time the online concerts archive are a mine for good music. Start
here for exemple.
