Here is a review that appeared in the on-line zine "Retina" (issue 8):
AURAL GRATIFICATION VOLUME I Aural Gratification
A new eleven song collection, comprised of tracks by Kevin Bartlett,
Happy Works[sic], Bokeno, and David Torn. All new names to me, as
this is my first exposure to Aural Gratification. I hope it won't be my last.
An excellent CD of spaced out electronics and dub influenced rhythms,
this compilation will have you mentally melting away in your favorite easy
chair. This is serious ambience that is deep and well produced, yet void
of psuedo nature samples and other cliche ambient trademarks. In fact,
this disc is somewhat moody, and at times, slightly dark. The sound moves
laterally through the air, hovering like a dense cloud, rather than ascending
toward the heavens. I highly recommend seeking out this album, and future
releases from this label.
