As mentioned, here is a new series from my collection. After the Master Series, here is the Special Series. Out of my 6,000+ shows and radio broadcasts, I have many concerts that were special for some reasons: the setlist, the musicians, the venue or unexpected events. These are the ones I'd like to propose you. Most of these come from my cassettes collection, so they will be released at a slower pace than my Master Series! But you won't be disappointed! I will try to gather the most unusual things I have in my collection and, as always, your feedback and comments will be my reward for all the work involved in this project. So when I saw these two c90 tapes on the shelf, I decided to have a go and transfer it to my hard disk while spending some time at home. Today's raining hard here, so why not? The recording is ok, I would rate 7,5 out of 10 and it's the second of 3 shows that SM performed at the NEC, towards the end of the 1989 tour. The band was huge at the time and you can hear it from the audience reaction. I had seen Peter Gabriel around two years earlier at the NEC, for three straight shows (one day I will share these masters as well) and I know what it means a packaed venue and an enthusiastic crowd. And Gabriel was the special guest of the show, singing "Biko" with Simple Minds. I had to work quite a bit on this recording. Revording level was adjusted several times during the show, so I had to re-balance it a lot. Plus I have added some re-eq and raised right channel to provide a perfect balance between the two channels. There are a few tape flips which I managed by crossfading the sound to make a soft transition. At the end, I feel there's an overall improvement in the sound. The setlist is excellent. So enjoy and have a good time with some vintage Simple Minds! ldb ayche tee tee pee colon slash slash double you double you double you dot geocities dot com slash bradleybee ____________________________________________________________________________________ Never miss a thing.
