It sounds a lot like Liquid Pig, style-wise Every song is just slow piano and very minimalist Where is the violin and electric guitar? And the songs like Cancer of Everything, Energy, Dresses or Bruises? I'll still buy it the second it comes out but I wish she would "rock out" a bit more. - ------- The Ectophile's Guide to Good Music: http://www.smoe.org/ectoguide/ - ------- To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with the message: unsubscribe sycophant If you gave an infinite number of monkeys an infinite number of computers, they would all get AOL accounts and send unsub messages to the list address. Perhaps that's just not where she's at now, I guess. I haven't heard much from this album yet, and like Joe (and many of the rest of us, no doubt) will pick up a copy no matter what. But I have to say kudos to Joe for voicing this opinion. It keeps this list authentic and not completely idolatrous (and perhaps beyond negative opinions) as fan lists sometimes end up being. And somehow even the songs that rock or crescendo in studio versions still maintain that (subliminally knowing that version?) in more acoustic versions. Way Below the Radio, for example, from the KCRW show. Thanks to whoever posted that Eels show (or was that on the Yahoogroups Lisa list? I've since deleted the e-mail) - awesome! The only disappointing thing for me is the length of the album; she could have put on some more songs, I think! "Rob Schiferl, Jr." wrote: I love some of the more "rocked out" Lisa songs, too.
