The White Stripes cover it too, but not nearly as well. On te same record is a ghreat cover oof Bobbie Gentry's Fancy. Another cover on Butch that is worth noting is "You Doo Right" orginally by Can (but perhaps more well known is the Thin White Rope cover of the song). IThe Fibber's version is the best version I've heard of that song too. It was one of the most entertaining rock shows of the year, from E's bemused arrival on stage in his pyjamas to Butch's attempt to upstage him by reciting Motley Crue lyrics. "It's always fun when you're in your pyjamas and Lisa Germano is in the room," E recalls fondly. "This show couldn't be more different, really. So much has changed since then. I normally don't put the pyjamas on until after the concert these days." full article here: http://www.theage.com.au/articles/2003/09/19/1063625143366.html - ------- The Ectophile's Guide to Good Music: http://www.smoe.org/ectoguide/ - ------- To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with the message: unsubscribe sycophant If you gave an infinite number of monkeys an infinite number of computers, they would all get AOL accounts and send unsub messages to the list address. If so, email me off-list and maybe we can meet there. And, on the off-chance that Lisa is reading this, I wish YOU were performing at the Austin City Limits Music Festival.
