(If you've never listened to Lisa on the KCRW archive, simply go to http://www.kcrw.com/show/mb and do a search for lisa germano on the left hand side. There are two Lisa solo performances - timed around the release of "Slide" and "Lullaby" - and one with her playing accompaniment on a Neil Finn show.) But my question is about other artists that Lisa fans also enjoy, who may have archived shows on KCRW. For instance, I am a fan of Beth Orton, as well as Lisa Gerrard. Both have shows archived on the above website. No doubt I would like many of the artists/bands that have played, but there are so many that I'd appreciate some recommendations. Any suggestions? Please stay focused on artists who have shows on the KCRW Morning Becomes Eclectic archive. Apologies in advance to those offended by off-topic conversations, but the list has been pretty quiet for a while. BTW, did the Lisa tribute album ever get finished? I did not know she had done any appearances on that show since the 1998. Gave me chills. Other sessions that I loved were Joseph Arthur (2 sessions - one in 1997 and one in 2000), Jon Brion (March 2001) and Iron & Wine (aka Sam Beam - December 2002). I know that there are others, but I'll have to wait until they come to me. I'll check out that Lisa Gerrard session, since I haven't heard it. Lisa was great. It reminded me of the Lambchop show from last year that was very informal and relaxed. If memory serves me correctly she was wearing the same thing she wore at Amoeba later that day. You also might want to check out "New Ground," hosted by Chris Douridas (former host of MBE). Nic Harcourt is a huge fan of Lisa's. I've seen him at many of her shows over the years and it's been nice to see her highlighted on KCRW's syndicated MBE spinoff "Sounds Eclectic." Lullaby has often been a feature on the show over the last few months. I think he first started playing it in the fall. Anyway, can't say enough about KCRW. They even helped a cool new artist named Tom Brosseau (who opened for Lisa last Friday). I heard he's in talks to get signed because of the station's repeated plays of his demo. Pretty cool. ~candace The New Yahoo! Search - Faster. Easier.
