It could be nice, Kjetil, if we could meet at this concert. But I'm wondering : will you come from so far to see her? Sure, it's about six (6!!!) years she hasn't come to Europe under her own name : a real event!!!! I hope to hear from you. But I'm > wondering : will you come from so far to see her? yes, if I don't do this now, I might never see her live, and I'd _never_ forgive myself. it's bad enough that I missed my chance at seeing OP8 some years ago (I didn't risk going AWOL from the Army -- bad choice in retrospect.). I had actually planned to go to Largo next winter since it seems likely there will be another Lisa Germano Day, but it's quite a bit cheaper to go to continental Europe. I actually haven't quite decided whether to go to Paris or to Brussels. airfare to Paris is a bit cheaper, and Maria McKee would be a nice bonus. a difficult decision! :-) an unrelated tidbit... I was browsing the G section at my local Platekompaniet outlet. they only had Happiness, but this is a 100 m2 shop, so the selection has to be limited. but, they had a Giant Sands compilation album "Selections circa 1990 - 2000", with a big sticker proudly proclaiming "includes contributions from Lisa Germano, Evan Dando, Victoria Williams, Juliana Hatfield & Lucinda Williams". so of course I had to buy it! you probably remember that Giant Sands is Howe Gelb's band, the other half of OP8. the Lisa tracks are the original demo-ish version of "Sand" (not very different, really) and a duet called "Remain Distorted". if you liked Slush, you should try to get hold of this! the duet with Trina Shoemaker was a surprise treat -- I didn't even know she could sing :-) - -- Kjetil T. | read and make up your own mind | http://www.cactus48.com/truth.html - ------- The Ectophile's Guide to Good Music: http://www.smoe.org/ectoguide/ - ------- To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with the message: unsubscribe sycophant If you gave an infinite number of monkeys an infinite number of computers, they would all get AOL accounts and send unsub messages to the list address.
