She said that her cat was doing much better. :o) I can't remember seeing her so playful. She was in fine voice, played the violin, keys and (Wonder Woman) guitar. I was surprised to see her backing Neil up on guitar since she has only played guitar on her own songs at all the other Neil shows I have seen her play. She didn't do anything of her own last night but it was a wonderful show! Christe xoxo Yahoo! Lisa did seem to be in a pretty good mood, but the show was pretty much all about Neil. I mean, it's his show & he's totally within his rights doing whatever he wants, but I was hoping for a little more Lisa. Instead it was Neil Finn playing his good-but-not-all-that-disctinctive-to-my-ear rock & roll. I liked his stage presence, and @ least he was better than the Eels &, I reckon, John Mellencamp... High points: 1. Neil singing an impromptu song about going up to Portland without Lisa and Sebastian, who have to fly to LA because they have "things to do and kitties to save" but that they would be up there in time for the show. 2. Sebastian playing a subsonic bass solo that directly serenaded my liver. 3. The merch table had a bunch of "Liquid Pig" promotional postcards, picturing Lisa floating mysteriously in the air a few feet off the floor. Extremely cool pic. I don't know. I bought Neil's DVD, maybe I'll like him a little better if I check that out. - --Tom Lucas PS The button thing hasn't quite caught on yet, and I didn't arrive on time to get anywhere near enough to the stage for Lisa to see me wearing my button, and I didn't manage to bring my friends because it was so last minute (they were all at the Stairwell Sisters show at The Bottom of the Hill anyway); still, I concentrated on the music and managed not to feel too pathetic sporting my sole RAOTR button ten body-widths back... - ------- The Ectophile's Guide to Good Music: http://www.smoe.org/ectoguide/ - ------- To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with the message: unsubscribe sycophant If you gave an infinite number of monkeys an infinite number of computers, they would all get AOL accounts and send unsub messages to the list address.
