The album I have is very mellow folky pop, but when I saw them live, they rock out on half the songs. Luna - Romantica. Also quite mellow. If you like anything else they've done, you'd probably like this, too. The Lucksmiths. The greatest cure for depression. Simple pop melodies with fun lyrics and plays on words. Some of their song titles: "Smokers in Love", "The Art of Cooking for 2", "The Year of Driving Languorously". Saint Etienne. I don't have the new album yet, but I'm going to see them tuesday here in San Francisco (very fun live). Wheat. Great musicians, and the music is very layered. My wife knew them in college, so we got a sneak preview of their upcoming album, and it's great. Cinerama - Torino. I really like this band. The lead singer/songwriter/guitarist is from The Wedding Present, but Cinerama doesn't sound much like them; much poppier, and better in my opinion. If anyone would be interested in trading mix tapes/cd's, email me. Lisa is not typical of my taste in music, though.
