I've just heard Stina's fired of her record label Independiente. She follows almost the same path as Lisa. Stina and her have to join their effort maybe. I think they can make something together. I don't know if they know each other music. Some years ago I sent two Stina's records to Lisa. I don't know. A search on the KCRW Morning Becomes Eclectic pages will also turn up Lisa Germano with her own performance (in anticipation of the SLIDE release) and Neil Finn performances (with Lisa on accompaniment). One of my other favorites, Beth Orton, also has a very recent archived performance with new material. A lot of good performances by some of the best artists with cult followings, such as Lisa Gerrard, Suzanne Vega, Jane Siberry, and Throwing Muses. Both live and archived shows are streamed via RealPlayer/RealAudio. Hey all, Since the topic these days seems to be other singers, I would like to focus your attention to Hannah Fury. She's released three CDs to date, which are all available through cdbaby, or her own site, www.mellowtraumatic.com To me, she's similar to Lisa Germano and Kate Bush. Yet, she does have her own, wonderful uniqueness... Go check her out, and support independent artists! ;-) Enjoy, Wouter from the Netherlands Yahoo! - Official partner of 2002 FIFA World Cup http://fifaworldcup.yahoo.com - ------- The Ectophile's Guide to Good Music: http://www.smoe.org/ectoguide/ - ------- To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with the message: unsubscribe sycophant If you gave an infinite number of monkeys an infinite number of computers, they would all get AOL accounts and send unsub messages to the list address. The only one I have never been able to find is "the photographer's wife" - it seems to be very hard to find..... for those who are not familiar with Stina, check out http://www.stinaonline.com/ - a very nicely done site...... doug On Friday, June 7, 2002, at 01:40 AM, Christian Boyon wrote: > Hi Doug, > > I'm a big Stina's fan and I think all her five records (same number as > Lisa by the way) are great. Thanks for the tip. I checked out the sample mp3's, and while I did not really hear too much "Lisa" (more earlier Tori and/or Kate Bush) I thought it was really quite good....enough to flip over to cdbaby and get out my credit card..... I really like discovering new stuff like this...there are so many really good artists out there that do not get major label support and it is so difficult to find out about them...these mail lists are great for tips like this....whatever did we all do before the internet? doug On Friday, June 7, 2002, at 01:24 PM, WoW wrote: > Hey all, > > Since the topic these days seems to be other singers, > I would like to focus your attention to Hannah Fury. > She's released three CDs to date, which are all > available through cdbaby, or her own site, > www.mellowtraumatic.com > To me, she's similar to Lisa Germano and Kate Bush. > Yet, she does have her own, wonderful uniqueness... > Go check her out, and support independent artists! ;-) > Enjoy, > > Wouter from the Netherlands > Yahoo! - Official partner of 2002 FIFA World Cup > http://fifaworldcup.yahoo.com - ------- The Ectophile's Guide to Good Music: http://www.smoe.org/ectoguide/ - ------- To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with the message: unsubscribe sycophant If you gave an infinite number of monkeys an infinite number of computers, they would all get AOL accounts and send unsub messages to the list address.
