I bought Jewel's CD, This Way, and was only moderately impressed until I got to the title track, This Way. The music at the beginning, and at times her singing, is reminiscent of Lisa's music. She opens with, "Love be still, love be sweet..." Something about this passage reminds me strongly of Lisa. Anyway, it's a wonderfully satisfying song. Since I'm pitching in my 2 cents, may I also suggest Nina Gordon's CD, Tonight and the Rest of My Life? It's more music written for deep souls like yours and mine. Happy holidays to all. Very energetic, perhaps even intense, great songs, and accomplished musicians. Highly recommended if you have the chance. I recently got the Yann Tiersen album, L'Absente. It's been mentioned here earlier, since it contains two tracks with Lisa's vocals. It's a wonderful album, quirky French music with lots of accordion and strings. If you like Tjtes Raides (who actually contributed on a couple of the tracks), you'll love this. Actually, I think any Lisa fan will enjoy this, and not only the tracks where she sings. It reminds me of This Mortal Coil, except a bit more cheerful and unmistakably French. One of my favourites is L'Echec -- I was so impressed by Lisa's French pronunciation, but when I checked the notes, it turns out the whispering, sleepy vocals are done by Natacha Rignier :-) - -- Kjetil T. abusing standards for the greater good http://www.microsoft.com:products@3333866552/ - ------- The Ectophile's Guide to Good Music: http://www.smoe.org/ectoguide/ - ------- To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with the message: unsubscribe sycophant If you gave an infinite number of monkeys an infinite number of computers, they would all get AOL accounts and send unsub messages to the list address. Yes. Nina. Definitely. ATM I'm listening to a lot of Natalie Merchant - her new one really grows on you - and Natalie Imbruglia's new album is quite good too. xoxo dan > ===== The STRANGE LITTLE GIRL net50 voting Campaign...
