I don't think you need to be a pro musician to participate. But I think the music should sound good. I think you need to have some technical equipment (or, who knows, make something just out of a computer and some other stuff. I'm no musician, so I can't really tell.) Judith: We probably won't be able to contact Lisa about that. But I don't think there is any problem. It's just a play thing for us fans. Nothing would be sold or anything. Perhaps in a firt phase, the submissions should be done in MP3, and later on we make a CD out of it. What do you think? > > Hello there. What do you think? I don't think MP3 is a good idea. I remember going through this last time. Most of the contributers (myself included) were recording on tape or cd and then sending it to the compiler who will eq everything and get the levels correct. - ------- The Ectophile's Guide to Good Music: http://www.smoe.org/ectoguide/ - ------- To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with the message: unsubscribe sycophant If you gave an infinite number of monkeys an infinite number of computers, they would all get AOL accounts and send unsub messages to the list address. You are aware of Lisa's supposed departure from making 'commercial' music aren't you? She was supposedly working slowly on an album and considering the internet as a means of release....but I am extremely enthusiastic of label interest. My only concern would be as to what label it is as I am sure if Lisa was adamant about making records again she would find herself many many labels who would sign her, but few of them would be worthy of commiting to i reckon. Anywyas, I think the best way of getting in contact with her is undoubtedly through 4AD, there is a general enquiries email address on their site and although they probably won't dish out Lisa's contact or manager details to anyone, I am sure they will pass on details for requests of a genuine nature.
