[kleinemans Subject: Re: sycophant "nobody told me what to do when life gets pretty ugly..." i am currently in the process of burning cd's from some audience recodings of eels shows. (not my recordings and it'll prolly take a while before i even get the things). amongst them is one of the excellent shows with lisa g... it's not really a lisa boot so i don't expect all of you to completely go wild here but for those who are interested i could work something out if i finally have burned it. i was wondering if anyone might want to burn me a cd of lisa's b-sides and soundtrack things... i'd rather have the original singles of course but they are hard to find, and i don't want to buy the albums again just to have some b-side bonus tracks. and i never buy sountracks just for one song anyway.. (especially when there's probably 5 i need to have). so if the lisa die hards will think i'm evil cos i'm asking this, keep in mind that i will never ever ever hear those songs if there's no copying taking place. and i think there's zillions out there who haven't got the extreme rarities even though you could prolly fill an entire cd with hard to get material. how could that hurt her sales? in the end the only hurt would be not buying the albums and i supose we've all got them all. mp3 would be nice to get b-sides but i'd rather listen to them without having to be behind my comp... but i suppose it is the easiest way to get everything out. i just hope someone can offer a serious ftp thing cos idrive has been a total nightmare to me thus far.(i never managed to upload anything sucessfully to that one and downloading is a hassle). oh well, whatever it takes to hear more. oh i just received an eels 'don't forget the lyrics stupid' sheet signed by the guys and lisa wrote 'to kleinemans, where are you?' onnit.. ain't that cute... got it from one of my us friends... lovely. cheers all.. kleins - ------- The Ectophile's Guide to Good Music: http://www.smoe.org/ectoguide/ - ------- To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with the message: unsubscribe sycophant If you gave an infinite number of monkeys an infinite number of computers, they would all get AOL accounts and send unsub messages to the list address. The E-Drive; FreeDrive; ftp, or whatever is a very good idea. We should have our own file space for sharing stuff. It would certainly not hurt her sales. On the contrary, I guess. It would be a way to keep the myth alive, while we don't get a new album. It could even encourage new fans to buy more CD's. The site would obviously not contain the commercial CD songs from her albums. Only some rare MP3 and other stuff. We could even include the songs meant to be for the Lisa Germano tribute CD. So... does anybody know where would be the best place to store the material? - ------- The Ectophile's Guide to Good Music: http://www.smoe.org/ectoguide/ - ------- To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with the message: unsubscribe sycophant If you gave an infinite number of monkeys an infinite number of computers, they would all get AOL accounts and send unsub messages to the list address.
