I'm sure something is going wrong somewhere. First I thought it was only hotmail, the the problem is larger. Anyway it's been sometimes I didn't write to the list. So I write something right now. Does anyone know something about the Belgian scene with bands like dEUS, Arid, Dead Man Ray, Thou, Soulwax, Vandal X, Reiziger or a woman alone on the piano, but far away from the Tori Amos' thing, her name is An Pierlé. On the last Walkabouts' album, which is exclusively made of covers from European bands and artists like Neu or Jacques Brel and even dEUS. I'm no nationalist, but I feel a bit proud. There is also a cover of a Swedish singeress (do you say that?): Stina Nordenstam. That girl made about four albums and there are all pretty amazing and oh so really good. If Lisa can blue your mood, Stina can make you cry. Did you know she almost signed to 4AD? dEUS I remember from their "in a bar under the sea" which was great, but I was pretty limited back then, and it didn't leave a great impression (i'm stupid). I have friends who are big fans though. Jacques Brel - is he on the Cocteau's Bella Union label or am i mixing things? i got to work today, and they were playing the OP8-record, it's amazing. - - s - ------- The Ectophile's Guide to Good Music: http://www.smoe.org/ectoguide/ - ------- To unsub, mail majordomo@smoe.org with the message: unsubscribe sycophant If you gave an infinite number of monkeys an infinite number of computers, they would all get AOL accounts and send unsub messages to the list address.
