I liked it straight away. She has a very interesting voice... I hate to sound really contrary and all but.... don't you think the fact that there are a few shit songs on the album suggests it's not a completely cynical commercial exercise? Like, a song about being raised Catholic... doesn't strike me as being calculated to appeal to the sorry youth of today. I can understand people's reservations about Jagged Little Pill, but the lyrics often show signs of inexperience that to me, at least, suggest that she might have largely written them. Major typo, and unintentional. I enjoy Alanis' CD. Face it, the major labels aren't smart enough to put something together like this record and have it sell millions. Otherwise, they would do more of it. They are insidious in how they "develop" acts then abandon them, but to take and create a formula and have it be as successful as her first album is far beyond their capabilities. Once again, what is more typical of the record company's is Maverick/Reprise scrambling to bury her 2 previous Canada-only releases (primarily) because they were far outside of her new "image". - -----Original Message----- From: owner-sycophant@smoe.org [mailto:owner-sycophant@smoe.org]On Behalf Of Jason D. I am a little confused - I thought this mailing list was about Lisa Germano not Alanis Morisette? For those of you who missed it - an interview on KCWR. Try to listen to Lisa, telling that she is working in a bookstore , moving from Indiana to LA. Also listen CAREFULLY what she is saying about Slide. http://www.liveconcerts.com/ ....then look for the ARCHIVE section of the column on the left of your screen. Click on "KCRW". Then, at the "Select A Performance" section, pop up that menu and scroll down until you find Lisa's name. Click on "go." It'll take you to a page where you can download her performance in Real Audio. I'm writing to this list for the first time. Just listened to excerpts from the Love Circus a couple of days ago....I really like the atmosphere on this one just as much as Happiness and Geek The girl. Was wondering if anyone could send me the lyrics of these two songs 1) love is a snot and 2) love sick or does anyone know a good link for Lisa Germano lyrics and photos ? I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
