Are people supposed to just stop liking them because a bunch of 14 year olds are running around with siamese dream shirts? What if this tour did boost Lisa's popularity and her songs were always on the radio and mtv? Would it be fair to stop liking her? I don't particularly like the pumpkins, but think they're fairly talented. I just wouldn't want to hear them enough to buy an album. And yeah, the are trendy teeny-bopper music, but there are worse cases of that, so you should at least respect the opinions of the people who do like them.bye!-Katie ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 19 May 1998 10:20:20 -0400 From: "Wiencis, Joe" Subject: RE: sycophant ENOUGH ALREADY!!! In all honesty, I think if we were faced with a lot of fourteen year old lisa fans, we'd be facing far deeper social problems than we can possibly imagine. :) Jason Korke - -- "The scientist does not study nature because it is useful; he studies it because he delights in it, and he delights in it because it is beautiful. I found your comment rather amusing, Jason, but I'm afraid your fears of unimaginable social problems truly exist in our world today. Angst is universal, whether you're 14 or 39, which is the age I started listening to Lisa! But, as for Lisa songs I DON'T like? I guess for me there are songs I don't like AS MUCH. I often skip certain ones, like A PSYCHOPATH, because I find that particular song just a bit difficult to take on a daily basis. That song, like Lou Reed's BERLIN album, is something I adore but rarely listen to. Although Lisa's songs are often tragic, there are also those tinged with hope, which hopefully, is as universal as our weltschmerz. Roll on the new CD! Sure, okay. Umm. i often skip Puppet. But that says something bad about me, not Lisa, whose work is flawless.
