Fischer" Subject: [pt] Tori Meets The PS22 Chorus, and some thoughts on ADP, etc. I thought that it was AWESOME of Tori to go and meet with those kids. I want to say "I can't believe she did that" but.. well.. there's no point in saying that because I can believe it, which just makes her uber-awesome in my book. :D but in all seriousness, what I liked just as much as seeing her react to their singing was their reactions on the ride back. almost every one of them said their favorite part was her crying because of their singing. I know I'd have been saying the same thing. also, after about a week of listening to it, reading everyone else's initial reactions, and being unable to respond properly to it till more or less now, I finally, FINALLY have some thoughts on the album: I absolutely ADORE it! it's like she read my mind and grabbed all of the good things about all kinds of different songs that I like and put them into her own work. the first time I listened to it, I was very much blown away to the point of posting something in my LiveJournal something to the effect of "ZOMGZ!!!!!!!" before I'd even made it through Bouncing Off Clouds only to say the same thing when I'd made it to the end. unintelligible fangirl screaming at its best, in other words. ^^ while I'm on the subject of the new album, I might as well throw my two cents on this part too: I don't see the fuss about the guitar playing, personally. at all. I never much cared for Caton, so that could be why. I always thought he was a showboating player--ya know.. (very) good at it, but he always came off to me as the type of guy who thought that making good music wasn't as important as showing off. and I think his guitar could have very much been left OFF on quite a few songs that he played with Tori in concert and sounded fine, if not better. mind you, I love a good guitar line, and he can pull them off like nobody's business, but ego ruins a lot of things for me. and I don't think the guitar on the new album sounds like Caton's playing at all. that's just me, though, since I actually really like the guitar work I've been hearing since SLG. that's not to say that Caton's on-album playing sucked. it didn't at all, really. I just think he sucks as a live player because every live song I've heard from when he was with Tori sounded to me like he wanted the spotlight on himself instead of on Tori, who the audience was there to see. also, I don't see the big whoop about whether Mac Aladdin's a real guy or not either. he's good--real person or not--and he doesn't seem to want to be an attention whore, which is a huge bonus in my book. and so what if it's Mark playing and using "Mac Aladdin" as a pseudonym in order to keep people from surrounding him? just let the boy play his damn guitar on Tori's songs. that's all that matters after all, isn't it? the music? (though for all my whining about "the music is all that matters", I will admit that I'm wondering who Mac Aladdin is as well) 'course, this is all just my personal opinion, so don't think I'm sitting here trying to pick a fight with anyone. that's the last thing I want! >.> - -- Cyndi S. They only had 2 copies at that time, but maybe they will get more, plus they have several locations around town. I was so excited when I came across it! FYI, it does not come with any booklet or inserts, just the double folder and the 2 records, but it's still great to have a large version of the cover plus the actual records :) ~~Alex On 5/8/07, Violet wrote: > > > Richard wrote: > >I'd love to get the audiophile LP of this that Tori mentioned in an > >interview, but I haven't come across it in the scavenger hunt that > >finding and buying the special edition of this CD became.
