What exactly is that? Rhino the > label? Yes. There are rumours that Rhino Records will release a box set of Tori goodies. With Witherspoon saying this, I think we can call it a confirmed rumour. Rhino specialises in releasing re-issues and box sets of popular artists. I especially love their recent two-disc deluxe editions of Elvis Costello albums. I'd give up my theoretical first born to see them do something like that for Tori. I suppose that I couldn't complain if they did something like their four-disc release of b- sides and other goodies by The Cure. (If you're not familiar with their Elvis Costello deluxe releases, they are all two-disc re-releases of his albums. The first disc is the original album, remastered. The second disc is a collection of b- sides, live tracks, outtakes, demos, and other previously unreleased material from that album. EC wrote new liner notes for the albums, and they also include complete lyrics. If you like EC, do go buy at least one of these re-issues.) There's no word yet on when we'll see this kind of thing. I assume that Witherspoon wouldn't've said anything if it weren't definitely going forward, and Rhino tends to move relatively quickly on these things. It's possible that they could have something in time for Christmas. If you're curious about how this kind of Rhino box set comes about, they have a great article up on their website: http://www.rhino.com/about/about_CDs.lasso Do be careful about browsing their website, though. They've released such an amazing amount of great stuff that you might find yourself with a bigger credit card bill than you had planned. :) /nm ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 20 Sep 2005 20:53:47 -0700 (PDT) From: Amanda Bradley Subject: Re: The Music and the Message Yeah, that is unbelievable. Even more astonishing is the fact that they would even think of shelving Tori's work. I mean, it's common knowledge that she has a highly devoted fanbase. So whatever she puts out will do amazingly well, even without their promotional efforts. - --- songchicky wrote: > > this is a great article. i can't even imagine > finding out that your label is > comping your concert tickets in exchange for airplay > for someone else! > unbelievable, although i don't know why anything > about the industry surprises > me anymore. > > tanisha. > > > http://tanishataitt.ca > Debut album Overflow available now. > > > > > > > > __________________________________________________________ > > Find your next car at http://autos.yahoo.ca > Peace Out, Amanda "You and me will all go down in History.
