How would you or > anyone else like it if Tori quit touring because of imbicile concert > attendees who just don't have any common-sense courtesy at all? ;-/ i agree, it should be announced over PA. as far as how many fans don't bother to visit the Dent to keep up with this stuff... i happen to be a fan who doesn't bother to check the Dent. i love tori, but seriously 99% of what's on there i just am not that interested in to read. i don't feel the need to see every set of meet and greet photos or whatever is up there. i even subscribed to the Dent's feed on live journal for a while, but unsubbed because it was just cluttering up my friends page. honestly, tori's the only person i'm even mildly obsessive about, and the Dent is just way too much for me, personally. i think assuming that every ewf checks the Dent or subs to PT or other lists would be ridiculous of tori, because not every tori fan has access to the net. nor does every tori fan feel they want all the rest of what comes with reading the Dent regularly, or subbing to this list. 9 times out of 10, i'm not entirely sure why i'm here, either. that said, you're right - it would suck if she decided to stop touring b/c of imbecile concert attendees... however, these things should be announced at the concerts themselves. it's the only way to make sure that all the people in attendance hear loud and clear. dana ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 12 Apr 2005 09:40:41 -0400 From: dlynngarrett@aol.com Subject: Two Tori Tickets for Detroit Available Hi Everyone, I have 2 extra tickets for Tori at the Detroit Opera House on Thursday, April 14th. The fact is that Tori wants this, and makes special arrangements for it to happen unimpeded by the ushers in each venue. I'm certain that she wants people to act responsibly as they come up to the stage and I expect she would prefer that no one's quality seats are superseded when folks come up, but it's logistically impossible to retain some utopian order up near the stage during the process of people coming up. The bottom line is that Tori wants it, and it's gonna happen. I can give some background on this another time if anyone cares, but not this minute. It seemed pretty orderly last night in Philly as I watched people move up. The admonition on The Dent seemed to have had some effect. That humans living in the New Normal are often rude can't be much of a shock to anyone not living in a cave. Tori has not caused humans to be rude, "civilization" has brought us to this point. Her people have never shown any interest whatsoever in taking any extra responsibility for anything. Part of the reason for this may be lack of interest, and part may even be legal. If they try to control something that turns sour and someone gets hurt, the injured party may have more of a case against her because they didn't do a good job when they *tried* to shape the situation in question. For many years Sanchez could have tried to impose a lot more order on the afternoon fan meetings than he did, but he never even felt inclined to speak loudly enough when he told people the general rules such as "she'll only use her pen to sign; when she's finished speaking to you don't move away because it could turn into chaos," etc. This engendered hard feelings on the part of some people in back when the ones in front had spoken with her and they remained where they were at the barricade, and the ones who didn't move away got branded as being selfish by not letting others have a chance. Those in back hadn't heard Sanchez tell the people not to move. This is the sort of paradigm they've built for everyone. I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for this to suddenly change after thirteen years.
