[ChaseTornadoes@aol.com] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Wed, 25 Feb 2004 18:08:56 -0500 From: ToriVolta@aol.com Subject: The NY Press Review Yo Fellow Tori Defenders:The part of the article that made me the angriest was the following excerpt:>But to use her> mind set now, America was "asking for it" the same> way> she was by wearing "a slinky red thing"right?> Substitute sexual imperialism for cultural, and that> poor rapist who had a go at her was simply> responding> in the only way he knew how to years of intimidation> and repression, the same way the terrorists did on> 9/11. Sounds screwy? I hope youre nodding in> agreement. Okay. First of all, why would this "professional journalist" be such a bone head and say "...and that poor rapist who had a go at her..."? WHAT?!?! Poor Rapist??? Had a go at her??? I'm sorry but that's just crude, AND politically incorrect, AND vulgar. What a creep!! Secondly, did this music review suddenly morph into an opinion column? "I hope you're nodding in agreement." Why should we nod in agreement with such statements as what this article bolsters? I mean, is the human race a flock of sheep? Shouldn't we make our own opinions? My opinion is that this Mr. Repsher is a frickin' right-wing, small-minded ape. My other opinion is that Ellen is my new EWF Hero! I love it when people stand up for themselves, and others, when they KNOW that something is wrong. That is who I am, as well. I use it in big ways: Anti-Bush protests, and in small ways: filling out the service cards at restaurants. On the other hand, I also bring attention to goodness. Such as, I fill out the service cards when I get good service as well as bad. I'll walk up to complete strangers to tell them they are beautiful, etc. Sorry. I don't mean to be like me,me,me. I just wanted to say BRAVO to Ellen and Dan for standing up for their rights as Americans and Ears With Feet. You two are fucking cool. Peace Out,Amanda ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 26 Feb 2004 12:15:13 EST From: ChaseTornadoes@aol.com Subject: toriamos.com & Cyndi Lauper. Hey all...ToriAmos.com has been down all morning. Could there be an update coming?? I hope so! Maybe for DVD's... Also, this isn't that big of a deal but I saw Cyndi Lauper in concert about a week ago and as she introduced her piano player she said "he's no Tori Amos, but here's...so and so on piano...that was funny! I always wanted Tori to cover some of Cyndi's work, they are very similar with there writing styles I think. I'm referring to her current work, not Girls Want To Have Fun...Songs I wish Tori would cover from her would be Fearless, Hat Full of Stars and Sisters of Avalon. Anyone else see a comparison?
