The Itunes "exclusives" are a "reconditioned version" of Putting The Damage On, and the soundcheck of Pretty Good Year. However, you have to buy the $12 album to get the tracks, and you can't get them as singles like damn near everything else on the store. So, right now I'm a bit pissed at Atlantic for giving us one last screwjob before dumping Tori's catalog off. Thanks, really. I'm not terribly interested in paying $12 for a single. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 18 Nov 2003 04:49:33 EST From: JNe9027355@aol.com Subject: missing my choirgirl cd case and booklet somehow i freakin lost it, out of nowhere. bewildering. if anyone could donate a copy of their booklet/case/one or the other, id love it. odd request, but worth a shot. Interesting. I wonder if we'll find out what the works of fiction are. /nm ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 18 Nov 2003 19:22:33 +0100 From: Michel Subject: Re: taol - ----- Original Message ----- From: > Hey all, just wondering what everyone thought about the cd/dvd. Too bad that there aren't any real live songs on the DVD. The three (sound check) songs on the DVD aren't bad but if i watch them often...?? the two audio songs on the DVD: i found the footage on the Zebra song the most interesting. the photographs during Damage, well...we know the most of them already, and you can't do anything with them, than watch them. In overall, i think the DVD is very poor (NOT in songs, but in footage) On the same label (Atlantic) the release of the compilation CD of the Stone Temple Pilots. Quite the same package (fold out digisleeve & bonus DVD) On this DVD : ALL videoclips, liveclips, bootleg clips, photo's ec ect more then THREE hours !!! that's the way to do it !!! again it's not the music, but i'm very dissapointet about the DVD. Now I understand why Tori takes her time with certain things. I went to buy this thing last night along with Cyndi Lauper's new release at midnight at this stupid store called Media Play, they told me both of them weren't "premier artists" and that they wouldn't be available until morning. Did anyone else encounter anything like this?? What the hell is a "premier artist" anyhow. Most people were there for Britney Spears :(...she isn't a "premier artist" is she?? I didn't think so either! So I got it after work today. I thought the CD case and booklet were just awesome, all very well thought out to perfection! The DVD I think is awesome..although it could longer, that's my only complaint. I like the sound check as opposed to a live setting, it's way more intimate. It's not exactly "live" but it's not studio either so I don't know why everyone's complaining about. We'll get a full DVD soon, I can feel it coming. Think about how great the new stuff was on here, worth the wait..so the DVD is probably even more worth the wait. Something else I noticed to. We were wondering why "Sneeze" and "Talula" didn't make it. Then I noticed "Pro. Widow" is the dance remix...WAS SHE TRYING TO KEEP THE HARPSICHORD OUT OF THIS??? What's everyone else think? I found that strange. Hope to hear other peoples thoughts soon. There will be NO required pre-purchase at this particular Tower Records location. This is a special cross-promotion thingy with STAR 98.7 FM and Tower. The 60 people who get to have something signed will "WIN" their opportunity from STAR 98.7 FM. The rest of us (the 500 minus 60???) who get in will be first come, first served at the Brea Tower store starting at 12:00 NOON on that day (December 2, 2003, Tuesday). Apparently the Brea Police are well suited to keep people from camping out or otherwise loitering until noon. The lucky 60 who get to have something signed (ONE ITEM ONLY!!!) will have to chose between the new Tales Of A Librarian CD (AWESOME!!!!!!!!!) and the STAR 98.7 Lounge 2003 CD that Tori is featured on. I threw Marnie a curve, and asked if the 60 people who get "chosen" by STAR 98.7 will get to waltz in at the last minute. It seems logical, but she didn't know the answer to that one, and said she would get back to me via email with the answer to that Q. Please feel free to post or re-distribute this information at large to any website, email list or outlet you think is suitable. I'm not trying to come off as Mr. Know It All, i'm just a SoCal boy with spare time and a functional telephone! I'll pop the tires on the Brea Police cars while you guys hold my place in line! DISC:AIMER: OK, THOUGHT POLICE, I"M NOT REALLY GOING TO VANDALIZE ANY POLICE CARS IN BREA!!! However, this particular collection from the divine Ms. Amos has been thoughtfully prepared and is actually essential for any Tori fan worth their salt. Amos's discography is well represented, and even though the impressive liner notes explain that the tracks have been "reconditioned," it's not a cause for concern. The songs haven't been messed up by overproduction and remixing (with the exception of the dance remix of "Professional Widow," which stands out like a sore thumb). In addition to tracks culled from previous albums, Amos includes two new tracks, "Angels" and "Snow Cherries From France," and two formerly rare B-sides, "Mary" and "Sweet Dreams." The accompanying DVD features live performances and a photo gallery. This collection will rival the mix tapes you or your Tori-obsessed friends have made over the years.
