I've been thinking about how Datura would be presented live, and I can't help but think she might change it a bit (that song has much potential for improvs or added lyrics) and it would make a good closer for the main set due to its "jam-out" potential. But, that's just me. I was very torn between what to vote for. Alamo (because that's my song), Indian Summer (because we haven't heard it), and Blood Roses were all contenders, but I went with MMF because I have been entirely obsessed with the plugged version from '98. I do think it is really great that she mostly put songs on that list that she hasn't played yet this tour (or ever, for that matter), recognizing the fact that we really do want to hear these songs. A few I was surprised that weren't on the list: The Wrong Band, Snow Cherries in France (based on what Neil Gaiman said about the song), Thank You, Banana King, and Operation Peter Pan. It'll be interesting to see how this whole voting thing plays out, especially since the tour starts in less than a week. I'm guessing that at least some of the band songs on that list have already been rehearsed. Who knows. ------------------------------ End of precious-things-digest V8 #175 *************************************
