[Last updated on: Mon Jun 3 19:27:54 2002] Welcome to the Darcie Miner Band Emailing List- "Let-It-Out"!!! :-) This info-file will serve for both the loose-mail versions and the digest version. It is suggested that you save this email for reference, or at least remember how to retrieve a copy of it (explained below). Info on how to unsubscribe from this list is at the end of this email. If you're wondering, my name is David Goodyear. After being quite a fan of Darcie's for years now, I decided it was time to start this list. A way for the fans of the Darcie Miner Band to get together & talk about the amazing talents of Darcie, Milhouse!, Ryan, Chris, and last but certainly not least.. Ali's brother Baitley. :-) Baitley, just so you know you were last ONLY because I did the names in order of who joined the band 1st.. LOL Normally, it would be my nature to list the lead guitar player FIRST. Currently, there are 2 versions of the list. A loose mail version, where you will get every post sent to you individually as a separate email. Then there is the digest version, that I will describe in a moment. Each email that you get from the list will have the subject preceded by the list name Let-It-Out, so you will know which emails are from this list. To subscribe to the loose mail version, in the body of an email send the two-line command subscribe end to: Let-It-Out-request@smoe.org To subscribe to the digest version, in the body of an email send the two-line command subscribe end to: Let-It-Out-digest-request@smoe.org Shortly thereafter you will receive an email from confirm@smoe.org It will contain a key/code that you have to send back TO: confirm@smoe.org Do that, and you are in :-) Since the list will be relatively low volume (at least at first), the digest will likely only come once a day (about 1:35am EST), and that would ONLY be on a day where there was a post to the regular (loose mail) list. If there is not a post on a given day, there won't be a digest that day. If the loose mail volume is high enough on a given day, once the cumulative totals reach 18,000 bytes (18K), a digest will automatically be published and sent to the subscribers. Note - subscribing to the digest and saving them is an easy way to archive all the emails to this list for easy-reference reasons....so it is OK to subscribe to both versions. The list will eventually have its own homepage. It will contain basic information for signing up to the Let-It-Out list, and maybe will contain a few nice pictures of the band and little tidbits of info, like a small fan site. :-) For now, the only list rules that I can think of are for everyone to get along, and talk about The Darcie Miner Band! Everything does not have to be on topic.. but try to keep most stuff about experiences, opinions, and stories about the band & the music. Oh yes, I guess you'd all like to know how to POST to the list. Ha ha, I forgot about that part. To post to the list, send your email to: Let-It-Out@smoe.org Then just write your email like a regular email, and everyone on the list will get it. If the email is off topic, please put the letters "NDC" (No Darcie Content) at the beginning of the subject line. Some people who will be on the list may get more email than they can handle. If they start getting lots of emails filling their inbox that are NOT on the subject of the band, they may get aggravated & leave the list. I don't want this to become a problem as it has on some other fan emailing lists. If you simply include the "NDC" warning, people will know the email is off topic from the beginning, and can decide if they want to continue on and read it or not. That's it for now. If you ever need to get in touch with me, or if any part of the signup process is unclear to you. I can be reached by email at: FlamingRed74@aol.com. Sincerely, David Goodyear-- Let-It-Out List Manager! To retrieve this file, go to: http://www.smoe.org/lists/ Find the Let-It-Out list, and click on INFO.
