I know this is non-jewel material, but I know that Aimee Mann has been mentioned a few times already on the list, and wanted to know what you thought of her. I just got the Magnolia soundtrack and love it so much, especially "Deathly", "Driving Sideways" and "Save Me" and I think it's so calming. One of my friends described her as elevator music, but the good kind. What do you think? PS, what did you think of the movie? I didn't enjoy it as much until I looked into the symbolism afterwards :) Luv, Sheila, the demi-angel ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 28 Jul 2001 01:16:48 -0400 From: "Scott" Subject: [EDA] Hotel Help for Nashville-Bound EDAs :-) Hi y'all.. I found this site, www.hoteldiscounts.com, that has some relatively cheap starting at $75.. That sounds so expensive to me, being that I don't ususally use hotels, but oh well.. Well, I just looked at it, and it says "from $75" next to Nashville, but I looked up a two-bed hotel for one night on Monday the 30th and I found a Ramada for $49.95 a night in Antioch, which doesn't seem to be too far from Nashville.. And there's a lot around that price.. So give the site a visit.. It'll help a lot of you out.. There's about 30 hotels listed in Nashville and surrounding areas.. Hope that helps! :-) scott.evans [[crazy is just YOU and ME. AMPLIFIED.]] AOL IM: sevans112 . Yahoo! IM: sevans56 . scott@tanweb.com My scribble pad. Much to everyone's dismay, Jewel is seriously ill with strep throat and various complications and she will be unable to perform or sing until she recovers. It is with great regret that we must reschedule the private EDA concert originally scheduled for Monday evening in Nashville. This event will happen in Nashville and the guest list will stay the same when we do it, but at this point, theres not much else I can tell you as this is all breaking news as of minutes ago. I will stay in contact with The EDAs as new plans finalize. The absolute best thing you can do to help this situation right now is to help us get this information to everyone quickly. If you were going and/or have friends going, call them and please help us reach those not checking their email. Again, we are extremely sorry for all the inconvenience this brings to so many of you and hope most of our EDA guests will be able to reschedule along with us. We'll do our best to make this up to you.. :( MrBB ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 28 Jul 2001 13:22:16 EDT From: EastAngelEDA@aol.com Subject: [EDA] Re: Nashville/Hotels Hehe, we changed hotels, now we are staying at the Ramada Inn, still on Broadway. LoL I am thinking I will wear khaki capri pants, a lime green check sleeveless shirt, and brown sandals. Seems like it should look nice enough to wear for the show, but also casual enough that I could go out in it afterwards. I am pretty sure Jake is going with khaki shorts or pants, and a light blue polo shirt, and brown shoes. I assumed that this was casual but don't look raggedy dress occassion. I just wanted to put my two cents in and ask the J-Team to please consider having the concert on a weekend if they postpone it too much later.. Many schools start in the middle or end of August, and I noticed that a lot of people who responded saying they were planning on attending are high school aged.. I'd be lying if I said this wasn't a completely selfish request in origin, since my school year starts August 15th.. But I think it would be nice if it could be considered that the concert should be on a Saturday.. If it's on a Friday, people won't have time to get there.. If it's a Sunday, people won't be able to get home on time.. Of course, there is no obligation to have it on a weekend, since there was no obligation to have it in the first place.. But for maximum attendance and minimum disappointment, please consider it.. Now, this is basically a plea to Alan and the J-Team since they have the most influence over the event out of anyone I know, but it would be nice to get some emails backing up these thoughts.. Are there any high-school age students who are in the same situation? Or anybody else? I know a lot of working people get weekend off also.. Well, let us all know :-) scott.evans [[crazy is just YOU and ME. AMPLIFIED.]] AOL IM: sevans112 . Yahoo! IM: sevans56 . scott@tanweb.com My scribble pad. It would be nice if they could reschedule before high schools start up again. Who knows if that will be possible at all, though. For some reason having it on a weeknight appeals to me more than a weekend. It seems more secret and private that way. I'm lucky that I'm in a pretty good situation, because I live and go to college in Nashville, so I don't have to reschedule travel plans or anything. I really feel for you guys who do, though. There's just a certain Sunday in August I'm praying they won't reschedule it on, because I'm traveling to see Madonna that day. I'll be devastated if I have to choose between two of my favorite artists, both of whom I've never seen live before. I'm sure things will work out. Let's just sit patiently and wait to find out. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 28 Jul 2001 12:32:40 -0600 (MDT) From: "Laurel --<-<@" Subject: Re: [EDA] Nashville postponement I feel so bad for Jewel!
