I got this from Eric's Steve/Rugburns page...It's at http://home1.gte.net/ericj1/rugburns/index.html. Old Lover's House I drove by my old lover's house last night at 3 am. Her car was parked next to his so I just honked my horn. But I'm lookin' for something new; something like you. And I'm wondering what I should do. Are you in the mood? Last night I had a fantasy you knocked upon my door. Your lips were so familiar, you reached into my core. (chorus) Yellow street lamps light the night. Lonely street corners sob and cry. The car is silent. I can hear my thoughts. My belly is full but my heart is not. I fell to my knees in front of the bathroom mirror. My eyes were as hollow as the six o'clock news. I just get amazed at seeing her on one magazine cover and I remember when I first heard Deep Water and its so strange taht she has come full circle. Well, In November during Mtv's spanking new music week, I had the opportunity to talk to Jewel for a a brief moment, but she signed my Cd and I thanked her for putting Deep Watre (an EDA FAvorite ) on the Cd. She was very kind, and a lot of the criticism is so uinfounded. Does anyone Know when she is playing New York again, besides the Women in Music on Jan 26. Does anyone have access to any new tapes with Spirit stuff on it or anything new from Hole, which I would love to get my hands on, I have a lot of classical Jewel tapes. You don't need a Java compatible browser. You need a Javascript 1.1 or better compatible browser. That means that the high end version works fine with: Netscape 3.0 and better Internet explorer 4.0 and better Opera 3.5 and better There may be more that I don't know of, but this is the list so far. The highend version will generate an error in older versions of these browsers, so there still needs to be done some work on these little details. (because it is VERY easy to intercept these errormessages, and just display a window.alert message.... (for those who understand Javascript). Hi all, I hope 1999 has been enjoyable so far. I'm getting tons of questions lately & have not been replying, because as I previously posted, I will address most EDA questions on Jewel's official website. The one thing still not addressed on the site is the rescheduling of Jewel's Charlie Rose show appearance postponed from late last year. She will be doing this excellent PBS interview show the week of January 18th, but we do not have the exact day yet. Keep checking the website calendar for updates on things like this. In the meantime, here is a list of important questions that I've received recently & which are answered on the website: When is the "Down So Long" video being filmed? When is the UK "Down So Long" single REALLY being released? What bonus tracks will be on the UK single? Is Jewel going to be featured on the "Anywhere But Here" soundtrack? What Jewel tour dates are confirmed? What new TV & media appearances are scheduled? Is Jewel going to be on The Conan Obrien Show soon? Is MTV doing a BIOrhythm show on Jewel & when? Is Jewel's 3rd album going to be a country album? Does Jewel go topless in "Ride With The Devil"? Did Jewel & Eddie Vedder collaborate on recordings for a Tim Robbins film? When will Higher Ground For Humanity be unveiled? I've addressed ALL these questions & more on the official Jewel Website at www.jeweljk.com. Hint: Check the calendar (both current & future) & the "rumor & truth" pages for all the latest information. We update these pages quite often. And finally, I'd just like to give a plug for our friend Joy Eden Harrison. Her wonderful new CD is done. The title is "Unspoken" & it will be released next month on her new independent label Astarte Records. She has distribution in stores but will also have web-ordering available via her new website & I'll keep you informed on that once its up & running. I absolutely LOVE this album & I think many of you would as well. For those who don't know Joy, she's a jazz singer & songwriter who also spent many a night playing at The InnerChange during the same time Jewel was there on Thursday nights. She's one of the many talented musicians to emerge from the San Diego songwriter scene. She's since relocated to Chicago & was a featured artist on last summers Living Room Tour, where she captivated all who attended. Her new album features all new original material & features many San Diego musicians & singers familiar to many EDAs & was produced by the amazing Cindy Lee Berryhill. I highly recommend this album & know many of you would love it! OK. Enough off topic info.... Please visit us at www.jeweljk.com & you will find the answers to ALL the above mentioned questions. We're still getting a few bugs out of the site & a lot more content will be up soon. Stick around & enjoy! LOL! @~Everyday Angels~@, Hi! I am responding to an article that and angel posted. It is called "In Defence of Niceness" and is by Polly Washburn and is from Perimeter magazine. I am going to quote something that kind of made me laugh because it is rather coincedental for me. The article writes: "Jupiter," "Life Uncommon" and "Do You" are forgettable, but pleasant enough." Those are my three favorite songs on her album. I couldn't possible forget them! I think "Do You" is one of the truest songs on her album, "Life Uncommon" is one of the absolutly UNFORGETABLE songs on "Spirit", and "Jupiter" is one of her lyrical beauties in my opinion. Is it available only on the web, because I've looked and looked in stores with no luck. I tried at Jewel's official page and the Kilcher Alaska store. Also, in your Bio on Jewel, it says "The Blonde Alaskan". In many early photos of Jewel, she has dark hair(although she looks good either way, I prefer her dark), and in her first proper video, WWSYS, it was brunette. Aaaaah! what beauty!! Anyway, what is Jewel's natural hair color, and does anybody know why she decided to change it? By the way, has everyone seen how stunning Jewel looks on the cover of Entertainment Weekly and Vogue(Please forgive me if I'm a bit slow- I just joined up yesterday)? I've done J-Cards for 29 tapes. Some shows have different designs. So there're J-Cards for 17 Jewel shows. There're: Innerchange days (3 versions), Radio and Rare Angels (2 design each), Tinker Cafe, Roxy, Tradewinds, Holmdel, Irving Plaza, Bimbo's, Boston, Geneseo, Wiltern, Rimac Arena, Bloomsbury, Muffathalle,.... A few of them were made with Microsoft Publisher 97, and the most with Corel Draw 8. Check them in next URL: trough the index page: http://www.geocities.com/broadway/stage/4277/ or direct to the J-Cards: http://www.geocities.com/broadway/stage/4277/tapes.html hope you like them!. P.S.: I get the pictures from a lot of places out there, and I don't remember where, so if one of those pictures are yours, please let me know and I'll put your name in the J-Card, and if you want I put it off. And of course, if you have a best picture than the one used, because, for example, it's from that show send it to me and I'll change it for yours. If you want me to do a J-cards just email me, and I'll do when I have some free time. We were informed last fall that there would not be an official 1999 Jewel calendar. My guess is that it was because they had many 1998 ones unsold....(i.e. late last summer they had "specials" on the JewelStore with free 1998 calendars with orders that came at least to a certain amount ). I don't know if it was because it just didn't sell well, or if they had just produced too many of them. But it seemed the whole article was talking about how stuck up Jewel is, and in the middle of page 23 it has in red writing a Jewel quote saying A lot of them "read the press on me, they don't listen to the record.... you guys are taking copies of copies. You don't have an original thought in your head." Ouch a little rude eh? But at the very end they kinda sum it up with this quote from Jewel, "If you talk about kindness, you have to be kind all the time: Do you believe that? How is that possible? I get that attitude a lot. People think that if I'm impatient once, that means I'm a fake. Sometimes being unkind is when you're mad at a person and you act like you're not. To me that's not kindness. Niceness. That's just niceness. And nice, you know, what's that? That's nothing." Also I don't like the picture of her boyfriend, I think she should ditch him and come with me :) too bad I leave on a mormon mission after this semester.
