After her set she signed stuff including a lilith fair postcard that i had got from a booth and i tell her that when i had a radio show i would play u r loved and i liked her concert and she asked my name and then signed it Wendy, You are Beautiful! Love, Vic isn't that cool? then i go see lori carson do her last song and then i went and got a spot to see juliana in the front row at the second stage. betty her dog was walking around and got free a couple of times and while waiting i met a few nice girls who ended up giving juliana a smurfette figure and they hold up i love you signs for juliana. then the band and juliana get on stage and she doesn't say much between songs except thank youvery verymuch and talked of the third eye blind song after her set i got the set list! here are the songs IDOLS OUTSIDER FADE AWAY LIVE ON TOMORROW SISTER WHAT HAVE I DONE DARLING THE UNHEARD MUSIC she wore levis and a longsleeve shirt without elbow coverage her dog betty was on the side of the stage barking during the set then about 20 people waited for juliana to come back out to sign stuff and she did! earlier i bought a new Hey Babe cd cause i only had it on tape before and she signed it and i asked her if she was a vegatarian and she said yes and i asked her if she ate fish and she said no. then i asked todd to sign my postcard and he said "but i know you i can't sign that it would be weird." that is so cool he is my friend. actually he'll probably forget about me soon. then i had mike bassguy sign my postcard. then i asked todd if juliana had a boyfriend or girlfriend and he said not now but she was dating someone. then i asked if he had a girlfriend and he said no i just got over a relationship. i said sorry i am being nosey. then a guard said juliana had to go eat so that was it and she was leaving and i asked her for a hug and she hugged me. i love her so much! then we saw fiona apple{criminal} tracy chapman {she played fast car&give me one reason}and sarah mclachlan {she played icecream}. all was excellent. i met reality622@aol.com mike and he was cool . i got the lilith fair music for the ride free tape. my mom bought me a bootleg tshirt of the lilith fair's white and has the logo on the front! love, wendy ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 25 Jul 1997 02:03:57 -0400 (EDT) From: VCavallo@aol.com Subject: Bearsville - Part H-Z First of all I'd like to thank everyone for the support of my posts, I'm really glad yall like them. Let me apologize and make the proper corrections. First I forgot to use NJC. The original letter was JC and I hit reply to answer it. But then I turned it into a sarcastic editorial. The second thing I did was not mention that this was meant to be sarcastic. For every ones information, Jared is a good friend of mine. At least I hope he still is after he reads this post. Please don't anyone take me seriously about harming Jared. He called me just as I was writing the post. I told him that he was going to have to pay the ultimate price for breaking another EDA rule. I got a lot of private mail about this letter. One person asked if he could throw the first stone. Another person said it was a mean thing to say to someone for such a little thing. It's not a mean thing to say, it's a horrible thing to say even if I only meant it as a threat. Another person asked me where he could get a copy of the rules. People, you missed my point. Be yourselves. the things so many of you refer to as EDA rules or not the EDA way or the EDA philosophy is all the rules of being a good person in the real world. I act like a Boy Scout and have never been a member. You aren't suddenly going to become divine just because you joined a mailing list. This mailing list draws a nicer group of people. It doesn't mean that you have to act different or transform into something you are not. The quote I used was from the Bible. it was from the first page of the Book of Psalms It wasn't meant to offend anyone's religion. Nor am I suddenly trying to preach religion. There has been a rumor started that I have lost my mind. It was started by someone that saw me at the pawn shop trading in my wings for a couple of Madonna CDs. I have some more unfinished business with the list and a few more posts left to make before I say good-bye to you all. At that time I will be leaving the list and may slip away without saying the proper farewell. As much as I will miss many of the friends that I made on the list, it is time to move on. The list no longer gives me the same pleasure it once did. Most days it feels like I am living a part in "Lord of the Flies." I'll save the rest just long enough so you can all say we finally are done with him. Glad he is gone. Even when EDAs are late for a gathering, they're early. C. Never expect anything from a $30 tent. D. Never expect anything from cold Pop Tarts for breakfast. E. When you're cold, go sit in front of a campfire, and then you'll get hot. When you get TOO hot in front of that campfire, turn on your mini fan, and then you'll cool off. F. Never trust an EDA with his hand behind his back and a big grin on his face. G. Never miss the opportunity to see Kendrick take himself for a walk. H. Make sure that, when exiting an area, all EDAs use different excuses. I. If you're afraid of Crunch's hair, don't worry... I'm sure it lies down flat at one point. J. Don't assume the quiet angels are the snobby angels. They're just SHY ! K. Erica makes the best bathroom escort in the world. L. When you and a small group are leaving the rest of the EDAs, and you make sure you tell a bunch of people that you're leaving , so they make sure that they won't do anything important without you... it's all a big lie. M. ALWAYS have another EDA to snuggle with, preferably your boyfriend/girlfriend/wife/husband/s.o. THAT way when the three people that remembered you were there post, they'll say, " Oh, you and ------- are SO CUTE !" and you can feel like a sixth grader again. :) O. I went away to wrestling camp down in UVA (University of Virginia) and we stayed in the dorms down there. I brought my Jewel Cd and blasted it nonstop for a week. Anywhere in the dorm you went you had to here Jewel's beautiful voice. Most people were upset and I got many requests to turn it off. But by the end of the week, People were walking around humming and whistling YWMFM, and WWSYS. : ) thanks Jewel's the best. Not a bad thing, just cool to see that there's diversity in the list. Gotta say, in my opinion, I deal with Hanson (especially that little annoying kid). My apologies to anyone who likes them. Give it a year, they'll die out, if not less than a year. I have to admit though, they're better than the Spice Girls. As for the tv/movie gig, I hope she doesn't start doing more acting instead of performing, but I would love he see her on the silver screen. That's it. Just my opinions on this glorious Friday. I would love to hear Jewel do a cover of "Orphan Girl" by Gilian Welch. Emmylou Harris does a cover of it, but I think Jewel would blow her away. I'm new on the list and I just wanted to say Hi! My name is Cara. I'm 16 (as of two days ago!). I've liked Jewel for a while and almost died when I saw her on the corner cover of US magazine! The interview was beautiful. Besides Jewel, I like Dave Matthews Band, Nine Inch Nails, Tracy Chapman, Pixies, and a few others. I have a dog and she's really cute her name is Lucy. I live in Massachusetts and spend most of my time in the Boston area with my friends. I tried to get tickets to see Jewel at Harbor Lights, but they were sold out when I called. Does anyone know of a place I can get some? My favorite Jewel song is Daddy and my second favorite is Adrian. Thanx for yer time! Oh, well, it's a good thread. weren't there rules to it? like 7 artists? Anyway here's mine in performance order. CAT POWER (one of Chan Marshall's acoustic show's. no band, just her) Sleater Kinney Ani DiFranco Juliana Hatfield Jewel Tori Amos Sarah McLachlan with special surprise guest appearances by Fiona Apple, Mary Lou Lord, Emm Gryner, and Lou Barlow (lucky guy, only male performer). I would like for it to be at this little club called Einstein A Go-Go, but it closed and only held 250 people and then all the EDAs couldn't come. SO I would have it at the Florida Theatre (the one in Jacksonville, not Gainseville, for anyone who knows about Florida concert venues) because it is one of the most beautiful buildings I have ever been in, would hold all the EDAs, and it's where I saw the best Tori Amos concert ever. ok that's all for now! ashley ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 25 Jul 1997 12:20:53 +0100 From: kareng@ici.net (karen gannon) Subject: Dream Concert Alive?!
