- On January 7th, Jewel will be announcing nominees at The Grammy Awards live from NYC. Consult local listings for stations, etc. January 5, 1997
- On January 24th, Jewel will be taping Tom Snyder's National TV show in Los Angeles and it probably airs that same night. January 5, 1997
- Jewel will be playing at the 1996 Billboard Music Awards, which will be broadcast on Fox at 8pm EST. (It's at the Hard Rock Hotel, Las Vegas, NV)
- Jewel played at Farm Aid which is playing on Saturday, October 19th from 6pm to midnight EST. It might be repeated again sometime later. October 19, 1996
- Jewel and Lenedra (her mother) will be performing a duet on "Lifetime Applause- The Fight Against Breast Cancer", a special on Lifetime. The song will be "Face of Love," written by Jewel, and it will probably be on the new CD. The show will first air October 21st at 9pm EST. It will be repeated three more times, but we don't know when yet. October 19, 1996

Jewel is in the studio recording from July 5-Aug 10 in Nashville.
Jewel is featured in this months (June 1996) issue of Spin Magazine. There's a brief little article on page 27 and a nice (large) photo of her lying on a bed in a blue dress on pages 26-27.
Jewel will be in Rolling Stone in two weeks from May 10th. It's a how-it's-all-developed article but they'll have photos too.
Jewel just did a photo shoot Monday (May 6th) for Esquire magazine for their '50 fabulous women' feature. Expect GORGEOUS photos of Jewel in ballgown most likely. Print date unknown to us.
Jewel will be the guest of honor at a benefit reception for LIFEbeat, the Music Industry's AIDS fundraising charity, after her Irving Plaza concert in NYC on Thursday, May 16.
At the party, Atlantic will present her with her gold record for Pieces of You. (her first). There should be a lot of press there --- they always like gold record presentations!
Fans MAY attend the benefit, which will take pace at F-STOP RESTAURANT, 28 West 20 Street, at 10:45 pm that night. People attending make a $10 donation to LIFEbeat. The party is sponsored by Entertainment Weekly and Rums of Puerto Rico (there are free rum cocktails all night long).
This is really Jewel's aftershow party. I produce these events for LIFEbeat regularly. Other celebrities who have been guests of honor at these events include Courtney Love, Cyndi Lauper, Tony Bennett, Sonic Youth, Garbage, Elastica, Siouxsie and the Banshees, and many others. Sophie B. Hawkins will also be the guest of honor at an upcoming event.

Jewel has been offered two shows with Sting, opening act: Aug 30 or 31 (forget which) in San Diego and Sept 1 in Las Vegas
Rolling Stone mag is doing a small piece on Jewel. They have decided they would like to include photos if the schedule allows. That may occur on the 24th.
Jewel charted on AAA (triple A, or alternative) radio today (April 19th) for the first time. At number 30.
Jewel will be hosting Alternative Nation on MTV April 17 and 18 at midnight.
Jewel will be taping 120 Minutes next Tuesday (April 23rd), and it will air the following Sunday (April 28th) at midnight. She will perform several songs live and and an interview. How can it be live if it's taped? Well that's what it says here. I guess it's a live shoot? I guess they wouldn't shoot her dead.
