This is a moderated news only list, available as loose mail only.
There is no digest option. The goal of this list is to provide subscribers
with timely news information about Jewel. There will be no discussion about
Jewel from subscribers to this list. To join the open forum Jewel
discussion list, subscribe to the regular/loose-mail Jewel mailing list by
sending mail to:

jewel-request@smoe.org

with ONLY   subscribe    in the body of the message. (That's the body, not
the subject line.) There is also a digest version of the open forum/loose
mail version of that list, info on that digest version would be obtained
when you'd subscribe to that loose mail version.

Jewel is not on the mailing list and you cannot contact Jewel by sending
mail to the list.

All messages sent to the NEWS list will have a subject line beginning with

Jewel News: ________

These are the current message topics that will be seen on Jewel-news:
- tour schedules
- dates when tickets go on sale
- release dates for albums, singles, soundtracks & promos
- tv and radio appearances
- chat sessions, electronic Q&A sessions, web casts etc.
- newspaper, magazine, and other print articles
- very brief concert reviews concentrating on set lists
- anything else list related (including gatherings among list members)

The list will be moderated by a team of moderators each responsible for a
weeks worth of news.

  All three were original moderators. Much thanks goes out to each of them
for helping during the formation and early months of news moderation. :)

The news for this list will be primarily taken from the Jewel discussion
list. However the moderators wish to make it known that they welcome any
input from readers. Don't be afraid to send something to the moderators for
inclusion in the news, we will forward the news on to the Jewel discussion
list if necessary.

the loose mail version list exists. It is full of basic info on Jewel plus
a lot on the "Do's and Don'ts" and list policies/guidelines, and a lot on
the list members themselves, as we regularly have get-togethers and/or list
