There's an ad for Jules tour in Uncut. "A night of spectacular guitar-heavy rock'n'roll excess featuring Doggen from Spiritualised on guitar, Mister E on drums and Zachary on bass and synthesizer." Thought it said Mr C for a minute. Now there's a thought! Seriously though, I'd say it's likely to be of the "cod heavy metal in stack heeled boots" variety, with a bit of Krautrock and (hopefully!) lots of banter. I'm on the biased side admittedly, but I think Cope is a great live performer in an Iggy kinda way. I obviously prefer Cope's pre-metal stuff myself, but there's always something there of interest. It's fair to say the heavy stuff works better live though, even if the gig I caught last year wasn't one of his best (interestingly this was after his supposed return to LSD), although a mate who hadn't seen him before though he was fantastic. I saw him on the previous full band tour though and it really was amazing!! Go there with a wanna have fun attitude, Paul. Hope you enjoy it. > > you going too , keith? must be one of the nearest shows to you at a guess. p There's a Manchester gig, but not sure that I'm gonna be able to make it at the moment. Fingers crossed! In the reviewed next issue section, it said "Yet more post-punk riches as the arch pop theorists dust down their seminal first 3 albums - PF, CM and 154 - for another outing". Also in this months Uncut (the one with Dylan, etc on the front)... There's also a cracking short Tom Verlaine interview and David Gedge has written a George Best obituary. And the free cd includes Metaphor, a track from the forthcoming Sparks album. Promising! Less impressed with the Buzzcocks track on 1st play. It's a Shelley number but sounds more like a Diggle one if you get my drift.
