M.Wilsson-Piper from Church is in line-up and he complete steal the show. It was very nice at the beginning , but it was obvious that they re-arranged songs and make it longer because of his guitar brilliance. Man is just fabulous in it was good, even in some segments it looks like he was from another band.. Chris Bailey look devastated (for example Cave looks like Brad Pitt compared to him) and obvious liqour is his best friend. He was in ver good mood, they put AC/DC in songs, on encore on acoustic guitar play tribute to Johhny Cash-Ring Of Fire, nad once when Piper has one of his solos said-well, we get him from Bon Jovi.. Set was mixed..from earlies stuff to mid-period and and some from last albums.. Anyway, it was very nice experience and warm one taking the fact that i came directly from stadium where Partizan FC on real snow blizzard and completely irregular terms play just draw with Dnepropetrovsk. btw, few daus ago saw MADREDEUS and it was mind-blowing i think that Robin Guthrie can make complete Cocteaus album from just one of their songs. I am not familiar with belgian belgian show on DVD called Euforia. also, in two weeks i will see MC5-anyone saw them recently, what can i expect..? cheers to all.. mileta ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 17 Feb 2005 05:57:09 -0800 (PST) From: Jan Noorda Subject: [idealcopy] Ether 05 festival The Wire (magazine is sponsoring) the festival Ether they made a kind of competition for winning tickets. watch at http://www.thewire.co.uk/web/competition.html The Wire is official sponsor of this experimental series on London's South Bank. Wow. That's weird. The Church sure as hell was good on that last tour... MWP in the Saints is a weird fit, but I might could go for that. - -Rex ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 17 Feb 2005 17:04:54 EST From: HowardJSpencer@aol.com Subject: [idealcopy] Re: LCDs << personally, i think LCD Soundsystem are complete crap...and the fact that they were the cover story in the last WIRE magazine further enforces my growing opinion that WIRE magazine are swiftly becoming CRAP.... Belatedly i've just received the Scottish Play DVD & it's excellent. I appreciate the effort involved & the final release of this item is a worthy contribution to the Wire canon imho. I really like the renditions of Agfars & Spent. Arcade Fire Conan & David Byrne live clips here: http://www.brooklynvegan.com/archives/2005/02/david_byrne_pla.html A bit gimmicky but anyone one who uses drumsticks to hit their helmets (Titter ye not UK'ers) together (O'Brien) complete with accordionist gets my vote. I noticed some Arcade Fire Torrents on the EZ Torrent Site. Why are these US TV hosts so unfunny O'Brien, Letterman & Lehto(?) Humour it's a funny thing.
