Today's Subjects: ----------------- new and upcoming releases [JoAnn Whetsell ] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Sat, 15 Sep 2018 12:45:41 +0000 From: JoAnn Whetsell Subject: new and upcoming releases Ane Brun has a lovely new live album I only discovered on Spotify: Live at Berwaldhallen. Jill Sobule's latest, Nostalgia Kills, was released yesterday. Only one listen so far, but it seems very enjoyable and very her - quirky, funny, thoughtful. Beta Radio, a male Americana duo from North Carolina, also has a lovely new album out, Ancient Transition. Again, only one listen, but definitely deserves more. They deserve more recognition. I think a lot of people on ecto would like them and would highly recommend checking out their album Colony of Bees. Sometimes haunting melodies and harmonies. https://betaradio.bandcamp.com/ [https://f4.bcbits.com/img/0003997271_23.jpg] Music | Beta Radio Beta Radio. Wilmington, North Carolina. Beta Radios Americana-folk sound is the result of a decade-long collaboration between Ben Mabry and Brent Holloman. Their sound is rooted in vocal harmonies, with guitar, banjo and an eclectic range of additional instrumentation and soulful arrangements. betaradio.bandcamp.com Metric has a new album out next Friday, Art of Doubt. You can listen now (like me!) on NPR. https://www.npr.org/2018/09/13/645362241/first-listen-metric-art-of-doubt [https://media.npr.org/assets/img/2018/09/10/metric_jbroadbent_0399_bw_main-i mage_jonnyretouch_wide-c9a4413aa185e51e2213a51cc251106a1ae23e38.jpg?s=1400] First Listen: Metric, 'Art Of Doubt' On its seventh album, the Canadian band returns to the spiky, effusive pleasures of guitar-driven rock and roll. www.npr.org Enjoy!
