I've never heard anything about them keeping backups of anything, but yeah. It'd be nice if they answered their mail too. I've written them numerous times and haven't gotten anything back. I've written Happy and told her that if they do it again she needs to knock some heads at MySpace to tell them it's AUTHORIZED! > As for sending bulletins... from what I gather > band profiles by default don't receive bulletins > from their friends list, they have to change a > setting, and most of them don't, otherwise they'd > be up to their ears in bulletins, so seeing as most > of the people that were on Happy's friends list > were bands, I'd say most would never see any buletins > you sent. Oh boy, I can attest that bands most certainly do get other band's bulletins. I can also attest that it's easy to be up to the ears in Bulletins. I rarely read them to be honest. I was getting hundreds a day for months! They set a limit of 25 pages of Bulletins (before that there would be 150+ pages of Bulletins!) and if I started at Page 1, most would expire before I even got anywhere near Page 25, with new ones to take their place. The times when I thought I had to be polite and diligent and really try to keep up on Bulletins I'd start at the end, because I knew that they would be gone in minutes. It was just too much. I could have spent all day, every day, doing nothing but reading Bulletins. Yeah, I do send them out myself, sometimes, but most people don't have as many to slog through, and I don't really expect anyone to read them. I'm always surprised when people do. If anyone wants me to know something, they'd better send a direct message, because odds are I'm never going to see a Bulletin. At least, not on the Happy account. It's easier to see Bulletins on my own account (/equipoise) because they're not hidden on a separate page like on a band page. On a band site you have to seek them out and go to a specific page to read them. They're not intrusive at all. On a personal site the top 5 or so Bulletins are right there on the Home page, then you can click to read more. > Perhaps I've been misinformed about this, or > perhaps they still get bulletins from other band > profiles.. I don't know. Yeah, misinformed, but that's understandable. I've never noticed a setting where you can turn off getting Bulletins either. Maybe there is one, but I don't think so. I'm nearing the 100 Friends mark. Only 4000-something to go! :) :( What bothers me more than anything is the thought that someone might notice Happy gone from their Friends list, and think they were booted off, and not come to the page to check what happened. The thought makes me sad. Vickie - -+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ Music, all I hear is music, guaranteed to please... Want to meet Happy in PARIS? Happy's going to be in Paris for a week in a couple of weeks, and though she's not performing, she's doing the tourist thing (as well as doing some business-related stuff) and would be glad to meet any fans while she's there. E-mail me. The wedding went off without a hitch (except for Happy and Bob getting hitched, of course). Subject: Stream of Passion I hadn't seen any comments on Stream of Passion, so please forgive me if this is a repeat. Arjen Lucassen of Ayreon has another side band with beautiful femal led vocals. The first side project that I bought was Ambeon (with lead vocals by Astrid van der Veen who is now currently part of the band called Endorphins.) Ambeon was a softer ambient sound with heavy metal inspirations and beautiful vocals. The most current side project is Stream of Passion. This time around he and this group of players have gone for a heavy metal sound. The heavenly vocals are provided by Marcela Bovio. The aspect that I enjoy most about heavy metal music such as this is the dynamics. The music goes from soft lulling dark beauty accompanied by pianos and violins to the sweeping driving guitar heavy sound with a chorus of voices all within one song. Perhaps it would fit under the I'm pretty horrible at describing music, but please check them out at www.streamofpassion.com. Also, is there a heavy metal type category that could be included on the ectophile's list? I'm not really seeing where something like this would fit in, or would that be "Beautiful and Fierce?" I guess Stream of Passion fits into my concept of what ecto is but perhaps I'm incorrect on that. I'm curious to know how everybody on the list defines ecto. At what line does something fall into that categorization or not? I would think the obvious starting point is anything Happy Rhodes does and her music spans folk to electronic to classical to anything she's inspired to create. Is it possible for Happy to create something that wouldn't be considered ecto? I mean if she decides to create a mainstream Britney Spears' type song, would it still be ecto? Just curious. Thanks. I mean, besides her music, which is pretty wonderful. I sent Heather another add request to get her back on Happy's list, and then left a comment explaining that Happy's page had been deleted and thanking her for the 2nd add. Since I, uh, don't read Bulletins, I didn't know this until just now, when someone on HER Friends list wrote and said that he just discovered Happy, loves her to death, and wants to buy all the albums. He happened to mention that he found out about Happy via a Heather Nova Bulletin!
