I'd said: >>That's only part of it. We have a piano that I can't get rid of. We can't >>take it and no one wants it (maybe us being on the 3rd floor is a >>problem, ya think?), plus there's clothes, magazines, videos (anyone want >>old episodes of "ER" in SLP speed? Didn't think so) Can you believe it? I've actually gotten rid of most of these things (including the ER tapes!) because I found a woman who's even more of a packrat than I am! She came over the other day and took TONS of stuff with her. And the neat part is, she's coming back! I still have hundreds of magazines to give her, and she wants them all (boggle!) Hooray for packrats (other than me!) I hooked up with her via the eBay community boards, so I think she's going to go through and see if anything is sellable too. I think a lot of things would be, but I don't have the time, patience or knowledge. I'm also throwing away with abandon. It hurts, because I know that someone, somewhere, would want this stuff, if we only knew about each other. Example: anyone into Culture Club and/or Duran Duran collecting? We never were, but I have these Japanese magazines from 1984, 2 with Boy George on the cover (Music Life and Ongaku Senka) and 1 Music Life with John Taylor on the cover (all have color glossy photos). Chris's mom used to live in Tokyo and sent us weird stuff all the time, from fans to cardboard and fabric cassette holders, to these strange magazine that open backwards. I really have no interest in them, and I don't think this woman would either (I doubt if they're even ebayable), but I'd feel bad if I threw them away. We got someone to come get the piano. I'm so relieved about that! We finally found an apartment, after looking at what seemed like hundreds. It's smaller and more expensive, but what can you do? The biggest advantage is that it's only 2 blocks away from here. We loooove this neighborhood. I am holding back Tori (and other) items for you Nadyne. Well, this past weekend Liz wrote a letter to the editor. http://www.nytimes.com/2003/06/29/arts/29MAIL.html Regardless of your opinion of Phair's latest CD, you gotta love this response! =============================================== Meredith Tarr New Haven, CT USA mailto:meth@smoe.org http://www.smoe.org/meth =============================================== Live At The House O'Muzak House Concert Series http://muzak.smoe.org =============================================== ------------------------------ End of ecto-digest V9 #189 **************************
