But I >suppose that you would say that he wouldn't have any idea what a male >storm would look like. which perhaps may possibly bring us to yet another all-time weather classic "rainy day women #12 & #35" of course, we could all argue the appropriateness of this sexist title. the fact that the very title of this song denigrates women by not even referring to these particular women by name, but by *numbers*. i suppose this would make the song never to be a part of Jian's repertoire... as Jian, conscious of all oppression in the world, would never perpetuate the idea that women are anything less than their male counterparts... and that yes, should be paid as equals. so, uh, yeah... never mind. ;-) - -Snow, very sick & only moderately inspired ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 08 Jan 2002 16:53:26 GMT From: "Chris K @*_*@" Subject: Re: his point Eric wrote: > And I'd be calling the police. Would that be for trespassing on private property? If someone showed up with some dresses I doubt the police would come rushing over. Hello police station YES!!! Please hurry!!! Someone is on my front porch with a DRESS!!!! Do they have a weapon sir? Well no *pause* but it's a DRESS!!!! They want to push their lifestyle on me! Call us when you get the dress on - the number for the fashion police is 555-1013. They can help you out then. > I don't see why you continually feel the > need to try to push your lifestlye on me, > or even just use it as a piece of > conversation. I don't try to push mine on you. I don't know about that - you keep blocking out the word "GOD" is there some reason for that in *your* lifestyle and you're pushing it on the NG? Didn't someone ever tell you that GOD has a sense of humor and I'm sure is laughing at some of these posts and is wondering why his/her name keeps getting blocked out? This is when you should talk to your boss and say "Hey! You know I think I'm overpaid. Why don't we LOWER my salary to 87c! That's FAIR for me to live on!" > It seems that _you_ have a problem -- that you are > unable to distinguish > what exactly a "problem" consists of. According to Merriam-Webster: 1 a : a question raised for inquiry, consideration, or solution b : a proposition in mathematics or physics stating something to be done 2 a : an intricate unsettled question b : a source of perplexity, distress, or vexation c : difficulty in understanding or accepting Eric, what IS the problem? > And you have every opportunity to find me humorous, > but apparently feel no responsibility to do so. Quoting textbooks isn't humorous considering that every economics textbook is different in their definitions of whatever you were talking about. That post put me to sleep by the middle and I certainly hope you don't pursue the teaching field. Oh, but I did get up to the part about the car being assembled here. So where were your car parts made? Car might be assembled here but the parts might be made someplace else. Do all of your clothes say "Made in the USA?" I doubt that. And if you ever quoted that portion in a "real" company, they would say to you "Well in Mr. Eric's world that might work but this is the real world and it doesn't work that way." Try it with upper management in say, oh a large BANK, then see how your idea goes over. while making their point. What would you have done then if you were publicly embarrassed like that in your job that pays 87c?> > Yeah, Karl Marx also had a theory about the progress of society. I'll send Todd Rundgren your way. > If I choose to spend my > money buying candy, and you don't like that choice, > I fail to see how that is my problem. Because you could share that candy with someone else instead of keeping it to yourself. That's being a good person and it would be someone eles's problem if they were sitting next to you, hungry. That will give the printer "just" enough time to get the shirts from the factory, print them, and for us to package and ship the shirts the Saturday before FruCon5. This year our goal is only 36 shirts. If we can get to 25, we'll buy the last ten to make the project happen! All the details are listed at: http://home.attbi.com/~zone5/frucon5.html Thanks, Brent and Mar zone5@attbi.com ------------------------------ End of alt.music.moxy-fruvous digest V6 #9 ******************************************
