I don't know if this is related, but things like mint make you feel cool and refreshed due to the Trigeminal Nerve (I may be spelling it wrong). It's the same nerve which senses infrared (heat) in snakes - - although not specialized for the location of warm furry prey. In humans, it's located pretty much behind your nose - so, you might not be smelling the cold exactly, but maybe your nose has a heightened sense of it. Either way, I think cold smells, although I usually think of it as the smell of snow. Of course, if you *have* a cold, then smelling is out of the question. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 31 Oct 2001 18:52:23 EST From: SugarFly26@aol.com Subject: Re: Cold moonshimmer says: <> No, no, no. :) I like the smell of woodstoves and such, but that's not what i'm smelling. Subject: Dave Matheson show Hello all, OK, there's been a change of plans here. Instead of Dave opening for the Supers at C'est What? in Toronto on Dec 14th, he will be headlining!! Yes, you heard right. It's a DAVE show! He is putting a nice little band together (I'll let you know who the lucky players will be soon) and will even be trying out some new songs. Kyp Harness (http://www.kypharness.com) will be opening. Needless to say, it's a MUST for ANY real music fan! :) I'll keep you posted, but if you can't wait for me to get off my ass and leave an email, just go to his site. :) Hope you're all having a great Halloween!
