My wife and I once spent an afternoon visiting every used cd store we could find in Toronto looking for the indie cassette, and this was years ago before they were even as popular as they are now. We didn't find one. As far as finding the CD version, I'd say forget it. There were VERY VERY few of those made. I think they were only for promotional purposes at radio stations. Even the tape version is very rare. There were more than 50,000 copies made, but the people who bought them have mostly hung on to them. I'm not saying it is an impossible quest. I know several people who have found them, but you should by no means assume that you will be going home with one. A.J. - -- "I know there is a lot of ambition in Washington, obviously. Hey, Todd-man... Look for a slightly-balding guy with a sweet blonde honey and a 12-year old FruHead in tow, and give us a smack in the head. That'll be me (Tim), my sweetie (Robin), and The Mighty Midget (Kelsey). Last year (at our 1st Con), we knew a couple-o-folks, but I'm not very outgoing, either. Robin and The Mighty Kel can talk to anybody, but I'm more of an 'in the shadows' guy. I'll either be volunteering, or have a turquoise Dan Electro bass strapped across my girth. And I've spent many many hours trolling Toronto's stores each time I've been there (at least once or twice each year for the past four) and have yet to find any signs of the Indie tape for sale. From what I've heard from others, you may have better chances in other Canadian cities. On the other hand, toronto's used record and CD stores are still fantastic and well worth visiting. Even if you don't find rare Fruvous, you'll no doubt find all kinds of other treasures.
