Ooh, yeah -- the soundtrack to "Young Americans" was all about Nick Drake, and I believe they even used some Guster a few times. Very cool stuff. Um, not that I watched "Young Americans" or anything. No, not me. Yeah. I am starting my own solo project with a group of great local musicians here in NY and my first gig is next Wednesday, Jan 17th, at 8pm at CB's Gallery. Hello all! It's January and the air is mounting with a strange sort of energy: the energy of people who really need to get out of their respective towns, head up to Toronto and mingle with some of their kind! To help all this mingling and the flurry of activity that comes along with it go smoothly, FruCon always needs the help of a few good men/women. We need people to help out at the door, people to help with food, people to help with raffle things, and a lot of other activities! This is your chance to pitch in and help make the event happen. Please drop us an email at fruconvols@yahoo.com if you want to take part! If you have a preferred time to work, you can mention that to us, as well as a preferred task if you have one. Also be sure to remind us of whether or not you've ever volunteered at previous Cons! All shifts will be one hour long (starting every hour on the hour), and all volunteers are asked to help clean up after the event. Some volunteers (depending on our numbers) may be asked to work two shifts throughout the day. Though you *are* listing a time and task preference, it is not 100% guaranteed that we'll be able to give everyone their first choice, so keep that in mind! **Important: The deadline for volunteer sign-up is **FEBRUARY FIRST**. After that, you'll be contacted with details about scheduling. See you in February!
