So I'm just sitting here watching Hollywood Squares (cause Tyler from BNL is on it this week) and one of the questions was "What is Frankenstein food?" Ok, so it's not QUITE Frankenfood, but the answer was genetically engineered food, so I guess it counts? Kinda random, and I didn't have any new messages in ammf when I signed on, so I thought I'd share........ Weekend of Aug 18-20, 2000 "Toronto band gets it together" It can be a curse to be diverse unless you know how to handle your various talents. A few years back Moxy Fruvous tried to combine its poppy songwriting sensibility with its zany ideas. It didn't work. However, the Toronto quartet realized it could have it both ways. The group crafts relatively straightforward pop albums these days such as 1999's "Thornhill" and offbeat discs like the group's latest "The C" Album, which is available through the band's Internet site. Philadelphia following The band has a considerable following in Philadelphia. "Philadelphia has always been great to us, bassist Murray Foster said. "We've gotten plenty of support from WXPN. We're very fortunate that we get such a great response there so of course we always love going back to that town." Ed Condran Hope you all enjoyeed! Those animals are often mistreated. I doubt Moxy fruvous would consider it an honor to have an abused animal named after them. I always thought it is "finally." I don't think "finely" makes any sense at all. I have noticed that when bands print their lyrics there are often mistakes. This could just be a mistake... I sure hope it isn't "finely." ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 07 Sep 2000 02:15:23 GMT From: sisterpuff@my-deja.com Subject: pictures from oberlin! here you go, kiddies! have fun! www.geocities.com/sisterpuff78/oberlinpics.html for all you mur people out there: www.geocities.com/sisterpuff78/sexonastick.html later amy www.geocities.com/sisterpuff78 Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy. ------------------------------ Date: 07 Sep 2000 02:20:25 GMT From: gewica@aol.com (GeWiCa) Subject: =?ISO-8859-1?B?UmU6IFN0cmFuZ2UgRnL8IGNvbm5lY3Rpb24uLi4=?= >...technically the Mitosis Waltz >should be the Meosis Waltz as it refers to reproductive cell replication in >totpointent cells rather than in grown cells which IS Mitosis. Now see, I don't really mind that, when it is used well. (in the design context of the site) Some of the uses should be cause to reach out and touch the person that wrote the page, but I digress. My current peeve is putting plug-in things on the main page (like www.sandiegozoo.org does). I don't want to go there and have to deal with RealPlayer starting up and then going through all of that. Ok. they used to be easy to find, but someone's restructured.... the only way I found it now was by going to "help" and then "sitemap", and then "burly music" (a big linked heading). You get a new window and two menus at the top -- one says "burly music" and rock-pop is filed under that. Weezer comes up, and the other menu says "bands A-Z" and you just look for Fruvous. It only works in netscape, for the record, on my computer at least. Can I just say that it used to be MUCH easier to find.
