I've seen the local Starbucks (a scant two blocks away) put the coffee shop at the end of my block out of business twice! They reorganized the first time and made another go at it, but alas. :( - -Taylor ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 27 Aug 2000 12:29:21 EDT From: FruCake1@aol.com Subject: Re: Jian in the Post In a message dated 8/27/00 11:03:06 AM Eastern Daylight Time, pmm9979@rit.SPAM.is.a.four.letter.word.edu writes: << That article can be found here: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A28141-2000Aug26.html -Paul Mischler >> Thanks Paul. It was very well written & clearly stated! That's actually one of the only things I've read by Jian! I work in an independently owned coffee shop for over two years now, and I can relate to what he is saying. It is very sad to see what people will pay for a double shot of espresso that's hardly 4oz! I love going out for coffee with my friends & just relaxing, and there is never a place where I can go to be in that sort of atmosphere. And when I do go for coffee, I usually have a couple dollars on me & wonder if I'll have enough money! It's really sick! - -Michala J ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 27 Aug 2000 18:00:41 GMT From: maggiemd@my-deja.com Subject: pool party for anyone planning on stopping by my house for a pool party on wednesday... change your plans. i realized that between leaving for college on saturday and having lots of company during the string of fruvous shows this coming week, planning a pool party just isn't within my limits. and besides, it's been way too cold lately. i don't want chilly fruheads. :) i'm sorry to disappoint anyone. ~Maggie~ Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 27 Aug 2000 14:49:04 -0400 (EDT) From: vavoom21@myrealbox.com Subject: The Internet Spy Software!! Interpretaitons welcome. Ok, I don't have many dreams, and even fewer Fru-Dreams. When I do dream, they are usually really far out there. This is one of the saner ones I've had. I'm in a room, sitting on the floor. I have the teddy bear that I've had since I was 6 months old with me. Well, I hear footsteps approching. It's Jian. He says "Hi! I remember you!" I glance down at my bear, and it's now autographed. It reads "Feel better soon, dear." *heart* Jian". It's also dated 6-21-00. So, as I'm thinking how that got there, I go over and talk to Jian. He says to me "You know, you should really post to the newsgroup more often..." Then my cats woke me up kind of. I was still 1/2 asleep, and proceeded to dream again, except now, instead of Jian talking to me, it's this kid I met at Villanova this summer. Then I woke up for real. I figured I'd better post this one to the newsgroup. For obvious reasons. - -Saph (Who was not at FRFF, and has never brought her teddy bear to a concert) *~~*~~*~~*~~*~~* "If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands." - --Dirk Gently http://www.geocities.com/saphiracat *~~*~~*~~*~~*~~* ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 28 Aug 2000 03:23:00 GMT From: Sally Subject: Re: pool party maggie wrote: >for anyone planning on stopping by my house for a pool party on >wednesday... change your plans. i realized that between leaving for >college on saturday and having lots of company during the string of > fruvous shows this coming week, planning a pool party just isn't >within my limits. and besides, it's been way too cold lately. i >don't want chilly fruheads. :) i'm sorry to disappoint anyone. > > ~Maggie~ *Assuming smart-ass, jokingly sarcastic tone now* If only I'd been able to go so that now I could be really disappointed ;) Seriously, sorry ya had to change your plans...but at least you and everyone else have still got the three nightly shows...and that's more than I'll have going on for those nights :) Have fun Maggs...I look forward to the reviews :) *Sally Block* Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy. ------------------------------ End of alt.music.moxy-fruvous digest V4 #363 ********************************************
