Okay, is it just me, or has my "cute fru moment" post started something that has nothing to do with what I was talking about? I was just checking the posts today after not looking at them for a few days, and I got totally confused and couldn't understand what anybody was talking about. I guess that's the general trend with threads, though, huh? My friend and fellow Fru-fanatic's name is also Chris Murphy. I don't see why anyone would want to interview him, though--his closest brush with fame was being the grand gentleman who shouted out "Just play the set list!" at the 9:30 Club show last November. There's yet another Chris Murphy, which I will dub Chris Murphy 3, who is an underwhelming sort of acoustic songwriter from Hawaii, whose CD I bought and gave to Chris Murphy 2. - -Mike ------------------------------ Date: 04 Aug 2000 03:36:07 GMT From: jacey7@aol.com (Jacey7) Subject: Re: Kill the ghosts. DIE! DIE! as much as i hate to perpetuate this.... >>Look back at the sentence<< I have looked back at this sentence, and frankly, it's not this sentence that caused the problem. this message was responded to in two ways. Someone said, essentially, "me too," which now indicates a trend. We now have a thread where two people, however casually, have mentioned a band member's behaviour after a show. An interesting topic for discussion on a newsgroup dedicated to said band, no? the other response was a joke. It took what was a very sombre thread and lightened the mood. Made me giggle. Not at you, but at the joke. And you could have laughed too, but instead, you responded like this: ________ I find it amazing that that one bit was what you chose to focus on. The fact that I was at all dissapointed by Jian is one of the reasons I'm so terrified of the way I feel... I shouldn't have any sense of entitlement to Jian's attention... or anyone's really. I should be and always am eternally grateful for every moment I have with them. Meanwhile I've just shared something with you that I was only just able to admit to myself the moment before I wrote the initial post... and you choose to just pick out the tiny bit to criticize me. I think I'm just not going to post here anymore. __________ *this* was where the problem started. Now this discussion has escalated ti another level. Now we're moved from "this is what happened to me at a show" to "you've hurt my feelings." Which of course, changes the whole tenor of the discussion. You call the recent change in the ng "ugly." I call it interesting reading. You say that this is "more than just a newsgroup." well, to me it is, essentially, just a newsgroup cause that's all I come here looking for. The bottom line is that it's all a matter of perspective... ~jen (if we kill all the ghosts, do we get to move to the next board?) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Wouldn't it be great if the band just never ended?" --Great Big Sea "Do you know that you are very strong?"-- Grover "Measure your life in love."--Rent ------------------------------ End of alt.music.moxy-fruvous digest V4 #334 ********************************************
