I've said it before on here and I will say it again. Cheesy teen sensation music has it's place in the world. It's not deep, there may not be much talent there - but gosh darnit, it's damn fun when you need to let loose and dance around your living room. Spice Girls, Brittany, etc are a release for me. And I like them. And I'm not ashamed to admit it. And for the record (and not to sound preachy), but "fruheads" should be the last people to put down other people's choice in music. Almost all fruheads have been annoyed when people dismiss Fruvous without a glance as that "King of Spain" group. So why should we put down other people's taste in music? I was a trend follower growing up and bought up tapes of Tiffany and Debbie Gibson (the Brittany & Christina of my day) and I have turned out fine (that's to be debated), so let people be to enjoy what they what to enjoy. And I'm not ashamed to admit > it. for the most part I'd agree with that, but frankly I'm not a big fan of the idea of little boys/girls going around with "Hit me baby one more time," or "Oops, I did it again" stuck in there heads! I mean, "Oops" is about toying with guys and using them, what a wonderful message to send up... and the spice girls? "If you wanna be my lover, you gotta get with my friends," yeah, sure there are different ways to interpret it, but tons of the people who listen to this music religiously (ok, so that's a exageration), aren't always the type, or the age, to deeply analzye what a song means. I can understand why certain awesome songs such as "Complainte" have not been put on albums/CDs (they're covers) ... but what about something like "Follow the Road" which it took me about 5 listens to to realize that it reminds me somewhat of "Downsizing." That's a gorgeous song and as far as I can tell (tell me if I'm wrong of course) it's a Fru-original. So why not on a CD? Same with "Grudge" which I love. And a few others ... how are these things decided? I can understand as well with cool ditties like "Cross Border Shopping." But it would seem "FTR" and "Grudge" would be naturals for CDs. Anyone?
