I don't remember the concert setlist or the ending song (but I'm sure eventually someone will post that info) because one of the actresses from the "Degrassi" TV series (one of the twins - 'Heather and Erica') was standing about 4 ppl behind me and Jen Meyers (that girl named 'Cheesemonkey.') She was soooo flattered that we recognized her and asked us if we wanted a picture with her (which we did *g*). She was the nicest person! What an excellent Canada Day celebration and the highlight of our year! =) Love, Christine. *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* - --Diet soda? - --No thanks. I wasn't there for the entire festival--arrived during the Lighthouse set. But I liked what I heard. I'd like to catch the Barra McNiels again sometime. Mmm. Celtic music. This is not a proper review. Not really a setlist either, since I was having too much fun dancing to write things down in order. But here's what I remember them playing: Get in the Car Michi Saucep'n brief improv: "the acoustic guitar" Sad Girl Pisco Minnie (haven't heard this in a while--very nice) King of Spain / GEH (short) Dancing Queen There were some troubles with microphones periodically; Jian kept motioning for someone to turn up Dave's mic. The set was short and sweet. I think not quite short enough for the venue staff, however, who appeared rather peeved when the lads didn't leave the stage after King of Spain. The lads--all of them, including Dave--came out behind the gazebo following their set to chat and sign autographs. Lovely weather, good company, my favorite band, all followed up by watching the sunset from the CN Tower. Just got home from TO, had meself a kick ass time, despite a few probs... Lisa bills sucks the big one, she needs to find herself a cell phone that works ;) also found meself without a ride on the way home, but there's a certain comfort in being stuck in TO and not knowing how you will get home, yet being surrounded by friends :D. Kinda loopy on lack of sleep right now but heres my review of the show: there was a show? hehehe it was only 40 minutes and i spent most of it chattin' with mindy and playing with sheryl's devil stix (DAMN once you pick those bad boys up you can't put them down). The highlight of the show for me is as follows: during one of the last songs in fruvous' set, im just mellowed out sittin on the grass, when i look to my right and see someone very familiar. "could it be...??" i say to myself, but dismiss it as, "naww, im always mistaking people for *other* people, it ain't her. But i still find myself craning my neck to get a better view of this girl who i think is an actress from one of my favourite shows. then i see her face and i know right away: ITS ONE OF THE TWINS FROM DEGRASSI! right away i think of Chrissie K, my fellow degrassi dork, who, like me, belongs to the degrassi fan digest :) Fruvous started playing dancing queen for their last song and i'm making my way to the front where i find chrissie and whisper "oh my lord, you'll never guess who's here... heather or erica from degrassi. look behind you but be subtle about it." hahahaha, so chrissie casually starts looking around and turns to me and goes "oh my god!! its her!!" now, for those of you who are still reading this (heh) and raising an eyebrow or three, you have to understand, me and chrissie have been born and raised on degrassi high, jr high, and degrassi kids, have seen every episode dozens of times, and find a geeky thrill in spouting off random degrassi quotes and memories, so this is a big moment for us. After fruvous' set was over, me and my fellow degrassi dork meader our way thru the crowd to go talk to heather/erica. After making sure she was in fact who we thought, we introduced ourselves and told her we were big fans, even though the show is a good decade old. i asked her if she was Angela or Maureen (the twins' real names) and she replied, "whoa, how did you know our names? oh! the credits! i get it" and then she giggled and told us she was angela (dammit, i forgot to ask which twin she played). She was very nice and seemed flattered that we recognized her, and when she noticed the camera in chrissie's hand she asked if we would like a picture, and got her friend to take a couple for us. ROCK!! this was as exciting as meeting fruvous for the first time :) hahaha, speaking of which, they had been long gone off the stage and me and chrissie didn't notice. Screw that, we met Angela Deiseach!!! hahhaha, sorry to those who expected real reviews and setlists, i can't provide that. for the few degrassi fans out there, heres some weak attempt at fru-content that might interest you: Angela seemed to be a big fruvous fan, she was dancin' away and singin' along :) woop woop for Canada, woop woop for wicked cheesy Canadian melodrama, and woop woop for our fave Canadian band :D - -jen the cheesemonkey aka "degrassi dork # 2" ===== ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ "Joey F.
