If this is a duplicate, I apologize. Hi all! I've been reading the newsgroup for a few months now, and I'm starting to feel like too much of a voyeur. So I'm de-lurking for a few minutes to say hello. My name is Carolyn. I've met a very few of you at shows (hi, Engle family and Gordon). I live and work in New York City, and I've been following Fruvous avidly for just about a year, having seen them for the first time at Clearwater '99. So far, my favorite Fru-show was the Towne Crier this past April. I have a nine-year-old daughter, Athena, whom some of you may have noticed at Irving Plaza or last Thursday at House of Blues. She loves music and is growing to love Fruvous almost as much as I do. She and I have been busy learning the words to the "C" songs-- her favorites are "Mitosis" and "Pork Tenderloin." My latest Fru-tripping adventure was the aforementioned House of Blues show. My friend Fred (another recently-converted Fruhead) and Athena and I drove up from New York just for the Thursday show. I went to college and law school in the Boston/Cambridge area, and I just had to see my favorite band in my favorite town, at least for one night. We weren't planning on taking Athena, but had a child care crisis at the last minute, so she came along. It turned out to be a very special night for her, so I'm glad she was there. After getting into Cambridge with just enough time for "dinner" at Herrell's (nothing like chocolate ice cream with Reese's mixed in for dinner!), we got to HOB early and got a great spot "right in front of the stage." We got acquainted with some very nice women during the show. Afterwards, Athena got to meet all the fru-lads (as well as Tobey and Jered). They all kindly consented to be photographed with her, and she had a nice conversation with Dave -- he seemed sincerely interested in meeting her (I love those guys!). Hope to meet some more of you at Clearwater and Falcon Ridge. I'm planning to be at Clearwater on Saturday with Athena and on Sunday without her. If you see us, say hi -- she's the cute one with dark, wavy hair, sitting in a red wheelchair, and I'm the one who's old enough to be her mother. _______________________________________________________ This information may contain confidential and/or privileged material and is only transmitted for the intended recipient.
