(yeah I know everyone has it all ready) OK I've been receiving Grief from Mr. Ghomeshi for 10 months since my less than enthusiastic review of "Thornhill." OK lets set the record straight now. First I bought "C" from Tobey so the lads get all they money. OK now for the album. Jian told me it was meant for me and it was. I can't believe it. Any album with Pisco and Killer Tents has to be great. Tents is my all time favorite Frusong. It has a science nerd song the Mitosis Waltz. Could they have been checking my bio when planning the album? OK its not Entropy but still...Guinea Pig, Pork Tenderloin. This might be my fav album I have to have more time to digest it though. His usual guitar is a S&P "Mahogany Pro" model, with solid spruce top, solid mahogany back, laminate mahogany sides. The alternate S&P is a rosewood model (rosewood looks much darker than mahogany, sound richer also), with spruce top. I have no info on the kind of internal electronics they have, other than S&P usually uses Fishman. *MY* guitar is a S&P "Quilted Maple Pro", with solid spruce top, solid maple back and sides. If you're interested in Cold War paranoia fiction, which I am, this book is a must-read along with Pat Frank's "Alas, Babylon." Of the two I prefer Pat Frank: the characters are well-rounded and plentiful, and I enjoy watching the transition of a Florida town from small-town normalcy back to a subsistence-and-barter based social group. Although this book contains references and stereotypical characters that may seem offensive today, it's as close a glimpse into the Cold War mindset as I care to take. Neville Shute's "Beach" is the more terrifying of the two, but it's a quiet terror that sneaks up on you, slowly, like the southern wind. Both books make me shudder and wonder how the human race managed to make it this far. - -kimberly - -still re-reading her T.R.
