Of course we do. And hopefully those who had a bad experience this year will have a good one next year. I'm sure the lads saw this same thing happen the last two years...in fact they addressed some of it at the Con last year. My message isn't one of "If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen" but one of "Don't take things so seriously...we're not out to get you!:)" Hell, at the Saturday night performance, I accidently shot not one but two pictures with a flash (I was using someone else's camera which automatically turns the flash on for no apparent reason). The second of the two was right...and I mean RIGHT...in front of Tobey. Tobey wasn't pleased to say the least, and he told me so in no uncertain terms. But it's not like I think he's an asshole for telling me something, even if it was a mistake I already knew I'd made. I also wanted my usual spot at the concert along that rail back by the merch table. I was told that I couldn't cross a certain line, but 15 minutes later, there were 2 or 3 people where I had wanted to stand. Did I get pissed? Kinda...and I asked why they could go back there and I couldn't. They said they had made a mistake and I just couldn't stand BEHIND the merch table. You know what I did then? I watched the concert from the stairs. I was disappointed, but I got over it. I encourage you all to have the same mindset. - -Phil __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Have you ever seen a real flame war?!? Some stuff was aired out, and I think we are all probably better off for it. Both sides in this thing have now apologised to each other and all is well. I continue to be amazed by the sensitivity and intelligence of the Fruhead community. I know that some people cringe when they see posts that tend towards inflamatory, but you know, in the end I think important points are raised, and usually good comes out of it. On this Newsgroup it never really goes THAT far. Anyway, as far as I'm concerned there will be a FruCon 4 if it is at all possible. The feedback we have gotten so far on FruCon 3 is far better than any of us ever imagined. The only thing is that it would be good if people could pre-register a bit earlier next time. This time we were in the unfortunate position for a while of planning a convention and wondering if anyone would actually come. :) A.J. - -- _____ _ / ____(_) | | _ ___ ___ _ __ ___ | | | |/ __/ _ \ '__/ _ \ | |____| | (_| __/ | | (_) | \_____|_|\___\___|_| \___/ @wwnet.com ICQ#: 13117113 ------------------------------ Date: 27 Feb 2000 17:13:25 GMT From: fruwench@aol.com (FruWench) Subject: RANT - MF at the Grand in Wilmington, DE Ok, as soon as I got my NPE post saying Fruvous was coming to the Grand, a block and a half from work, I dashed to the phone. My persistent calling every 2 minutes after opentin time was rewarded with me being the first caller of the day, adn the first person to buy Fruvous tickets. So how come the best seats I could get were ROW E and the best aisle seats were ROW *J*!!! I was originally told everything before J was *reserved for the band. I don't buy that. Reserved for radio stations and promos, yes. But reserved for *the band*? Where is this special Fruvous guest list and who do I have to kill to get on it? But I am a bit miffed that will all my dilagence in my home town, I can't get front row, or closer then *E* or *J*. Will anyone else calling for tickets please let me know if hey get closer? I am going to be VERY upset if they release these seats later and a last-minute ticket buyer can get better seats than the first person to purchase tickets. Now that I've vented . . . NOTE - I've been to this theater lots, it used to be a Mason Hall, and is beautiful, kinda posh, and perfect for symphonies. Not *perfect* for bands (or ballet, or opera or anything you want to actually *see* unless you are in one of about 3/4 the seats). Seats on the sides near the stage suck becuase you are against the stage wall on a line with the front of the stage, can't see much. Side balcony seats are facing the center of the room, NOT the stage, so you have to sit in your seat at an angle to see the stage, or twist your neck. Its better to be farther back than on the sides. ladywench "Music not danced to is music wasted." - Eileen Ivers, PFF 38 FruSpace - We came, we saw, we slept on the floor . . . ------------------------------ Date: 27 Feb 2000 18:29:57 GMT From: njskedder@aol.com (NJSkedder) Subject: Re: RANT - MF at the Grand in Wilmington, DE >Ok, as soon as I got my NPE post saying Fruvous was coming to the Grand, a >block and a half from work, I dashed to the phone. I called in at 1:00 pm on Friday and was told that I was the first one to buy tickets. I opted for 8th row because the girl I talked to said that the first rows were below stage level and I would have to look up at the stage. I got the impression from her that I could get front row if I wanted it. I also took a drive to Moon's Toons in Linwood NJ on Saturday and bought tix for the show at Mays Landing.
