They make some joke about - "we know you want to see some allstars but how bout the king of spain?" and out comes Dave in a frujersey. They start singing and within moments - out come all the team's mascots onto the ice just dancing along to fruvous. The lads work some allstar/hockey lyrics in there. "Do You Want To Know?" *silence* "Do You Want To Know?" *silence* not sure but he thinks that it was at the "ladies and gentlemen i introduce to you...." part where they said "CARLTON" (sp?) the grand ol' leafs bearish mascot. at which point the mascot runs out and that was sadly to say - the part of their performance that got the most applause. I was also told that about 2/3 of the way through the song all of the mascots began dancing in a choreographed manner. hey i just report it like i heard it. take it easy, J Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 08 Feb 2000 03:10:19 GMT From: Lynne Subject: Re: NHL game BNL sang right at the begining.. Oh how american I am, sitting there wondering why BNL would be singing the starspangled banner... *innocent whistle* When all of a sudden they began with Oh Canada.. my friend and I cracked up at our own shallowness... fortunately it was temporary. They cut to commercial and when they panned in you could see 4 guys on a rectangular piece of carpet jumping up and down.. faintly in the background you could hear King of Spain, but not very well over the anouncers. The cleaned up the ice and some synchronized skaters came on. I changed the channel at that point, becasue my hockey playing friend was making fun of the skaters. It was broadcast on CBC, which I get here in Ohio. Those of us with TVs and/or Canadian channels didn't miss much.. no worries. The live audience got the real show-- as usual :) - -lynne ------------------------------ Date: 08 Feb 2000 03:58:24 GMT From: spin0za1@aol.commmm (Spin0za1) Subject: Re: In defense of Champaign >-anna- >...who isn't even going to mention that whole 'warrant for my arrest in >the state of new jersey' incedent.
