A while back I posted some surveys on newsgroups for a couple of reasons, the main one is that other group readers can read a bit about you and then create discussion from that (of course, you only fill it in if you want people to read about you), and the second reason as I reckon it is interesting to see all walks of life's and what they like, from all around the world. This isn't made to annoy people, just for a group discussion. Some will dislike, some will like, fact of life. If you dislike it may be wise not to post a reply as it will keep the thread alive longer, but that is your choice. I will of course fill my own answers to be fair and contribute. I have left the name question out, as I fear it may not be wise to include it, but, if you wish to include your name then do so. Oh and no, this is not for dating, hahaha. Fountains of Wayne -- Utopia Parkway Grateful Dead -- Terrapin Station Dave Matthews Band -- Under the Table and Dreaming Moxy Früvous -- Bargainville " " -- YWGTTM(more so thatn B'ville) TMBG -- Factory Showroom I guess it's kind of that "slick modern rock" feel which I like, but each band(especially Früvous) make it very much their own. I also understand the parallel to Ben Folds Five & TMBG but where you lost me, Neil, is on The Grateful Dead's Terrapin Station. As someone who seen the Dead 30+ times while Jerry was alive, I just don't see the connection. Musically, Thornhill reminds me more of a Beatles album than a Dead album. And if I was comparing Thornhill to any Dead Album it would have to be American Beauty where the vocals and haramonies are more in the frofront and songs have more of a folk quality. Though, IMO, it just doesn't connect. Let me know your reasons why. >Time for some phatty Phil & Phriends (if ya don't know >who they are.... do some Deja searches & whatnot) and >Arthur Miller :) Your not the Fruhead with a DeadHead background. The only semi-kinda-Fru-related thing that happened today was that, while I was spending my requisite 2 hours at the fax machine, the mailroom guy (who knows I'm an English major) asked me out of the blue if I was into Gabriel Garcia Marquez. I told him I'd been trying to read Love in the Time of Cholera for a few years now, but I haven't gotten thru it yet. Then I ended up with MBLABOA in my head for the next hour or so, but you probably could've figured that one out on your own. Carey "OH yeah! THAT'S right!
