Not sad atall, actually. Just that today was the first time I've heard a frusong on the radio. I've been dilligently listening to WFUV every chance I get, but nary a hint of fruvous (just a lot of joni mitchell and U2, not that there's anything wrong with that, i'd just prefer MF! :) Anyway, today on my way down to a class, I passed by the pottery room and its respective radio. I stopped short when I hear the sounds of the "piano noodling" that begins Sad Girl [in a manner of speaking]. *Sad Girl on FUV!!! Sad Girl on the radio! Fruvous on the radio!* Soo, I was very cheerful, but I only got to hear up to the first minute and a half or so :( But still! Oh happy happy joy joy peace, - -mm- "being good is only when you're a bad girl" ? > I'm sure it will only get more severe. *hopefully* I'll find it safe > on my bus tomorrow morning (though i have severe doubts). ::sniffle:: I'm > a > Sad Girl. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 22 Oct 1999 02:58:32 GMT From: Raenfaerie@aol.com Subject: Re: Portland Show > Half as Much > Horseshoes > You Can't Be Too Careful <> Grrr - Why do they *keep* starting with this??? [Maryam is pissed off... this is just the latest catalyst ... who knows what might happen ! ? !] Seriously, though, I've been reading the setlists and noticing that the shows are getting, and here's a word uncommonly associated w/ fruvous - routine. For example, the rest of this particular show was pretty predictable [1], with Moon and Raja thrown in there for a small change. I'm wondering if the guys [2] like it this way, if it bothers them at all, or if the fans (that's you!! :) feel any which way about the matter. I mean, should a setlist become "predictable"? Me no mean to offend. peace, - -mm- "... feel the way I do?" [1] I wasn't there, I'm just commenting on the songs played and the order of the setlist here. I'm sure it was a wonderful show ... after all, it's Moxy Fruvous! :) [2] yup, i'm one of that steadfast group that just can't find it in themselves to say "lads." sorry P.S. And I'm *not* going to comment on the 18+/21+/drinking/clubs admittance/fake ids thread. You can vote for the greatest Albums of the Century. I put Live Noise in my Top 10. If you live in the listening area go to their website. WWW.WFUV.com and vote. Make sure to put a Moxy CD in your list. I know that none will actually make their top 100 but maybe we can get one to make a good showing. Hmmm. I, who've only heard it not at all ever, wouldn't consider Raja a *small* change. :( But as for the predictability thing, I do think that when they play at venues that are further apart one from the other, or in areas they don't visit as often as Ontario/east coast/upper-eastern midwest, (like Portland, say, or Saskatoon) they tend to play a more standard set. Maybe because to most of those fans there *isn't* really a "standard" set anyway, but there *are* familiar songs or new singles that they won't get another chance to hear live again anytime soon, and Fruvous tries to please on that level. Just an impression, mind you; I haven't crunched the numbers like Woodward and some others have. ;) - -- Lori ------------------------------ End of alt.music.moxy-fruvous digest V3 #907 ********************************************
