Thanks for posting this, Eric! I heard it no where else but here, until I saw it in Sunday's Phila. Inquirer Entertainment section in The Scottish Rite Auditorium's listing. A little ticket info for y'all: I zipped right over to Tunes (record store) in Marlton and picked up tix in the 8th row, orchestra right for $22.50/ea. They did not charge any service fee! I also checked Ticketbastards website on Sunday just to see what was available that way. It appears I could have gotten 4th row, orchestra from T.M., but they charge a $5.25 _per ticket_ "convenience charge" on top of the $22.50. So I'd rather sit in the 8th row than get ripped off by T.M. for $21.00. Tunes does not have the ability to print tickets, so their supply is predetermined by the pre-printed tickets with which they have been supplied. So you might want to consider getting tix at Tunes (in Marlton behind Friday's and also in Voorhees near the Ritz 12), or Three Beans Coffee in Haddonfield if you're local and like to avoid TicketMaster. Note that Tunes only accepts CASH. I'm personally more than happy to get to see two shows in 11 days (Keswick, Scottish Rite), especially since it makes me resist the urge to drive all the way to DC and back the night after the Keswick show. I just hope that this second Phila.-area venue will also be able to pull in a full capacity audience for the band so soon after what is now almost a sold-out show at the Keswick. It serves approximately the same geographical area as the Keswick, although it may reach further into the S. Jersey 'burbs and less Phila. 'burbs. Guess we will find out eventually. So, I checked this out (with the help of my friend, Claudia) According to John Mariani's The Dictionary of American Food and Drink, the first printed mention of Boston Cream Pie was in The New York Herald in 1855. When the Parker House opened in Boston in 1856, this cake appeared on the menu as "Parker House Chocolate Pie." It's also been called "Boston Cream Cake." It's no surprise to most of us that the Boston Cream Pie is a misnomer since this popular dessert is not really a pie but a cake. My guess is that this old-fashioned cake is more than likely the invention of someone (obviously from Boston), who wanted to replace the pie crust as the standard foundation for a creamy filling, and baked a cake batter in a pie pan. we found this at http://www.sallys-place.com/food/columns/braker/boston pie.htm brought to you by: Genna ------------------------------ Date: 18 Oct 1999 22:29:00 GMT From: bnlwildy@aol.com (Bnlwildy) Subject: Re: Re. fruvous Autographs I met Jian the first time at University at Buffalo after a performance at Springfest in 93 or 94.
