Well, at least they've all heard of Moxy Früvous; they said the name correctly; and one has heard them on the radio, as have two fathers. melanie (trying to figure out a way to incorporate a Moxy Früvous song into a church school discussion for 9th graders *grin*) ------------------------------ Date: 03 Oct 1999 22:13:18 GMT From: dalevy@aol.com (DALevy) Subject: Re: OT: The Nields And this is probably late for most folks but Katryna and Nerissa are opening for Catie Curtis this afternoon at Fuel, a club in downtown San Jose. The girl who brought it in said she really loved the harmonies on it (well, i GUESS you could maybe give them that *smirk*). Then the girl beside me, whom i had recently befriended, raises her hand and says "You know who is really good for harmonies? Moxy Fruvous." Well, my eyes got big and round as i turned to stare at her, and kelly, my friend who knows that "my band" is fruvous, starts laughing her little blonde head off. heehee! it was great! so i engaged this girl in this converstation, asking her how she knows fruvous and what shows she's been at and what cds she has (she had bville and just bought thorhill :D ), and then I take out bville which I had just happened to have in my bag because I was going to be doing a song analysis presentation of GWS later that day in my other music class, and then we get "in trouble" with the teacher for not looking at our Haydn symphonies like we were supposed to :) This same girl then told me that altho she really likes fruvous, her brother is absolutely crazy about the band. And later on during that day as I was leaving another class, I passed a grade 9 boy who noticed my fruvous shirt and reacted thusly: he pointed at my shirt and loudly exclaimed "she likes a cool band!!" hehe then he told me he got a new fruvous shirt recently :) I later found out that was the girl's brother! (no, i hadnt put two and two together). That's my fru-story and I'm stickin to it! - -jen the cheesemonkey, who ended up getting perfect on her GWS presentation :D ===== ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Doing a little work around the house. My friend Reed in Edmonton did, there's a neat story behind that. I met Reed about a year and a half ago online, i was in a yahoo chat room or something and we just started talking, and I found out he liked Fruvous. He only had one cd, so I told him to run right out and buy all the others, which he did :). Now he totally loves fruvous and was so pumped about them coming to his city. I jokingly told him to tell the lads "jen from St Catharines sent me," and he actually DID. hehe, and to my surprise and amusement, Reed reported that they all knew who he meant right away.
